I had to size UP just to get the proper length of the shoe. That already means without any other factor, the shoe is not TTS for me.
I didn’t wanna have to admit this, as it is more of a matter of shame, but I am probably more qualified to comment on NB# shoes here than just about anybody who isn’t employed by the company. I own probably roughly around 80 pairs (maybe more) and have about 25 pairs in my current rotation. In every model (808 aside) I am a 10.5.
Also, having been given a pair of wide 440’s I can also comment on why I didn’t buy wides. NB wides are wide in the wrong area of the foot for me (and many others here, go back X amount of pages for confirmation). The wide iterations tend to be wide on the outer toe edge in a way that really fucks with one’s flip tricks.. as there is too much excess in a crucial area of the foot. For those of you who actually do flip tricks still..
That said, why then would I have even considered wides when I don’t NEED wides in any other model?
I get you guys for whatever reason act like I shot your dog because these shoes don’t fit me in my actual size, but there’s nothing I can do about that.. nor can you! So why get your panties in a bunch about MY experience? After all, it’s my personal experience, not yours.
I am 12E in normal NB's, but never tried the Numerics, I am assuming then it's best to steer clear of wide Numerics?
Trying to get a pair of the 933's, but the whole wide/not wide thing is keeping me from not buying.
Side note, if there are any retailers that are carrying 12 wide let me know! Orchard is out.
I don’t wanna give advice here, because some people get a bit pissy, but NB# wides did not work for me.. I’ve noticed a few people, and my friend who gave me the pair state that they are wide in the wrong area for the foot. I found that to be true for myself as well.
However, while I sometimes struggle with tightness in a particular area of my foot till a good few sessions in on any shoe, I generally haven’t had to go wide on NB# models.
One thing I have had to do (which is standard here) is half size up on the 808’s, and full size up on any leather models (they tend to run smaller in my experience).
