This is a shot in the dark, but does anyone have a line on a sale pair of the black gum 480 highs in a size 10? It seems like that colorway is mostly sold out now but if I'm trying to see if I can get my hands on a pair that's not super expensive

Got to try on the 933s at BlueFlowers, and was sadly surprised I didn’t like the fit. I personally had some heel lift in the same size I wear 1010s and 440s in. Shoe looked great though and was really comfortable. Just don’t think I could skate in them.

Theres is def some heel lift, it's very slight (persoanl opinion) and goes away after a while; I don't notice it at all anymore....small price to pay for still haveing forefoot flex and moderate forefoot padding (and a thicc juicy heel).

Also that Reynolds 2 white and gum colorway is chefs kiss.

I went down a half size and wide on my second pair to try and mitigate that heel slip cause I have it on my TTS pair.

I noticed a small amount of heel slip in the 440’s I just got but it’s not as bad as my 480’s so I will definitely skate them. Now the Reynolds has heel slip? Is this a NB thing? Never had this with Nike vans or adidas.

I can't wear Sambas, Campus, on any Cons without heel slip so it's prob a heel shape thing

Yall have some dainty heels. I have never had any of my nb's slip there. The 480s do roll over tho cause my heels are wider than the sole there.

i got a lil bit of heel slip in the 440s and 480s. Nothing huge tho definitely not a dealbreaker. 508s, 913s and the 533s back in the day were all fine.

None in the tiagos either once they break in but maybe a little on the first session, the heel pods on those work great for my foot but some people seem to dislike them. Not a huge fan of the sb dunk heel pods.

Got some 933 size 13 wides. Dont feel crazy wide or roomy in the toe or anything. No heel slip.

Yeah, I’m wearing early samples in the black/olive. We removed the hot melt layer about halfway thru the design process but this pair was so perfectly broken in, I kept running em.

I see, is there a reason why it’s just that colorway? And will there be more colorways like that? I really like that leather youre using on the toe for that colorway over the mesh of the other 3. Should I just get a second pair now?

Is that Grey the same as the Grey Day?   Looks lighter and I’ve seen a lighter grey model in some of these vids (a more traditional NB grey) but I can’t tell what’s coming to pass and what’s not.   I’ve been pleasantly surprised we’ve seen so many colorways already

I had this issue with the 480s, it's like the laces are too small for the shoes. Swapped the stock laces for some Dunk Low ones cause they're longer. Helped get rid of some heel slippage.

The included laces make it hard to fully lace the shoes without choking them out. They should probably be longer.

Idk, maybe this is just with larger sizes? Or my foot could sit really high. Not sure 🤷🏾‍♂️
[close]

Since I can think, I always have that problem with the laces that are too short. Maybe our feet are just shaped that way, I don't know. But I would still swap laces for some others that don't rip as easily and my girlfriend is happy about some new laces.
[close]

when this happens, sometimes i mess around with those different ways to lace a shoe. i use the ‘heel slip’ technique pretty often

anyone complaining about heel lock… follow the heel lace guide. it works wonders on any shoe

Awesome.  Light grey laces look really good in them

The lineage of the 933 traces back to NB's history of making quality running shoes in suede and mesh. 990 series is almost exclusively some kind of suede over mesh, so thats what we did on 933. There will be other future colourways that have a non-mesh vamp, but the mesh will likely be the dominant material up.

The 933 is basically what Reynolds always wanted in his Emerica shoes but the company is too shitty to deliver.

The last Reynolds G6 was seriously good though

It honestly feels similar in ways, especially the midsole.

But the 933 is clearly more stable, and the upper is more proportionate to the thickness and stiffness of the sole, rather than being flimsy and sitting on top of a thick sole. The emerica reynolds g6 felt tippy and unstable to me. But the 933 has none of that as its much better designed and more structured.

For how thick and cushioned the sole is, the 933 once broken in also is more pliable and lighter with a little more boardfeel I think.

So yeah, the reynolds g6 was decent, albeit not for me. This 933 is in ways a much better, refined version of it and looks like a NB runner

The 933 olive/black definitely reminds me of an elevated KSL or Reynolds G6 in the best way.  The 933 upper hugs the foot a lot better than those.  Was thinking I might need the wides going in but so far so good with the regular fit.
