I've been hesitant to give the 933's a shot as I prefer thinner cupsoles but now the white/gum howls my name in the night and won't stop.

It's a great feeling shoe but by no means is a thin cupsole.

I’ve been skating a pair for like 3 weeks now. They’re big by today’s standards, but not crazy bulky. It kind of reminds me of something from the mid 2000’s. I guess maybe I like big skate shoes

The price tag is kind of crazy but they definitely feel like a “premium” skate shoe or whatever the fuck

So I was way stoked on the 933, and honestly still am, but I have struggled to get used to skating in them. The few flip tricks I do have been so inconsistent. I switched back to my old skated in 480s the other day mid session, and immediately started landing my flip tricks more consistently.

I had been skating the 933s since just after launch. I don’t know if it was all in my head, but the struggle was real. That said, I still have multiple pairs of them, and they’re my “daily driver” when it comes to what shoes I wear. They’re a great shoe, built insanely well, and hold up great, super comfortable. I was just sucking worse than normal in them.

I’ll give them another go at some point, but I was surprised that I wasn’t really feeling like I was adjusting to them. That’s a really rare occurrence for me.

Just got the 933 tan teals from LB Skate for like $125.44  after tax (use "subscribe10" code) and free shipping. There are a couple of sizes left.

I’ll say this: I’ve skated so many pairs of 440’s that they felt like they were made for me personally. That’s one of my all time favorite shoes. The 993 is about as opposite of that and I also really like it. Like it enough that I’m considering a couple more pairs. Some of the colorways are definitely whacky and I’ll avoid those for sure. The one negative thing I’ll say is that I’ve gone to skate a mini ramp and it’s felt like my shoes had unbroken themselves in twice. I couldn’t connect with my board the way I’m used to, but only on transition. No shoe is perfect and that’s my personal flaw with the 993

Was watching random shit on youtube when I came across an NB# demo for Modern skate. Not my local but I wanted to see some demo clips so I checked it out & I came across what seems to be the Foy cupsole...

Looks really good, I cannot wait for these to come out in some mellow colors.

Wow these are great, love the top eyelet detail, color looks awesome. Foy cups also looking very tempting, interested to hear about the sole on those.

Do 508 sell really well somewhere? I never see them but seem lots of 440, 480, 600, and 1010's. Of those the 600 have the worst colorways and I feel like they could do a lot better especially or just copy the nice 440 colors like they do for the 508.

My black/gum 480 highs get here yesterday. I threw the off white laces from the Brooklyn project 480 highs in there. They look sick.

I really hope this is not the end of the 480 high top. @rothdigga

Not sure what I'll skate if it goes away. Got a pair of dilos but they feel like they're gonna bag out quickly. Maybe grasshoppers but they look super bulky, which would be exaggerated by my skinny ass build.

Could go back to Jordan 1s I guess. But I was beginning to feel like I was getting too old for those shoes. I didn't wanna seems like one of those elderly hype beasts.

[close]
I don't think it'll be the end of them, I just think they'll be few and far between launches given that the hi's are just so much slower than everything right now.

Would appreciate continuing to release at least 1 480 high per year. Need those for when my ankle is acting up 😂

They really might just be the best skate shoe ever. I try various other shoes now and then, but I think I'm gonna keep going back to the 600 'til my wheels fall off.

p.s. the white/gum looks, well, perfect.

Yes, NB should do this - there is no doubt that the SLAP thread has encouraged numeric sales.

Maybe blue suede, gum sole, white N, with red, orange, and yellow accents.

They should also prank the f--- out with the QC of the Slap shoe and make some intentional "flaws" dedicated to all the NB# pals.

I often need to get a 9.5 in sneakers, chillers, etc. however 9.5s are always a a tiny bit too long to skate comfortably and 9s sometimes crush my foot. The 600s have a truly glove like fit, though, so 9s fit comfortably snug… they cured my gear madness.

That would be dope. I would add random mismatching extra laces.
