Man I don't wear either of those models but the minimalism color treatment on that 933 came out so good. Respect for not dropping the Reynolds 1 nostalgia bomb n the first round too.

Yeah maybe it’s just what we’ve seen but it feels like a uniquely cohesive season for a shoe brand.  Very minimal colorways and gum soles.  I dig it!

It’s about half and half, definitely some colorful stuff packed in there

White & gum 933 might be a perfect skate shoe

Pals, the 480 is finally growing on me. Maybe I'm getting old enough for them. Less soreness in the feet.

Glad I didn't give up on them entirely. The break-in process was a chore.

Should probably get them in suede next time.

Shoe is solid.

the 480 isnt the old man model, stop that
while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo

Not implying they are, I was just referring to my old ass feet and how a good, solid and sturdy shoe can help prevent old ass feet problems.

Just read the Justin Henry thrasher interview and he talks about having just shot something for Grey Day with iirc Reynolds and someone else.   Anyone know which shoe might get the Grey Day treatment this year?

Foy cup is new so that would make sense. But 480 is always nice.

Good call.  770 could look too.   Only betting against the 306c because the regular 306 already got the treatment.   I wonder if the Lost Art 600 keeps it from getting an official Grey Day.   That was a great collab

Picked the 306c today!
Not that I have a lot of skate shoes to compare them with, but they feel so much better than the eS 298 I have been riding>
And better than the Adidas Tekkria Cups, that I also bought today

I'm going to retire my 480 highs.

Yesterday I tried something: half the session I skated 480 highs and the other half, 440 highs, which is my go-to. These 480s are my first pair but I've had several sessions on them.

I've been seeing people saying the 480 is tippy/unstable. To try to remedy that, I got the highs. I lace them coming under on second to last eyelet and over and through the same side, to secure against heel slippage and make a tighter fit. Then crank em down as usual. I have the suede Brooklyn Projects 480s.

Again as someone else here said, the bulk of the shoe seems to not be conducive to stability. With what feels like a looser upper that doesn't conform as well as the 440. I think that might also be a product of the different lacing layout. The cutout/dip in the rear collar, while making it easier to get the shoe on/off, also sacrifices a stable support point. Maybe the leather 480s are better structured and not as soft as my suedes.

When I put the 440s on for half the session, it was instantly noticeable. Much more ankle support, more predictable, stable, and secure fit. Course impact protection was less than the 480 but i expected that.

I'm on my 3rd pair of 933, the black and gum, and man they're lasting very little.
For comparison my previous pair (the grey ones) after 5 months of skating feel better than these blacks that are one 1 month old. Also the grey ones are less destroyed.

Anyone have experience skating the 508’s?

I’m a religious 808 user but want something a little slimmer.

I’ve tried the 440, 600, 1010 and 306 a couple years back, but the newest colourway of the 508 caught my eye.

Only hesitation is the side wall of the outsole is so thin, I’m not sure how it would hold up especially being a more kickflip heavy kind of guy. Any insights would be awesome!

Lost arts and krookeds colorways really take the 600 to another level, the materials on those are so good

I imagine a big part of this is the pig suede on every other pair vs the suede on the black

That little thing where the tag hangs down from the tongue label and it rests on top of the laces

That makes total sense, had no idea that black ones were regular suede.

Need to request that c/w for all other models (440 already did a great one)

3 sessions in on the 306c, and so far is my favorite NB shoe I've skated (out of 1010, 933, 440, 480, 600, and 808). Shoe is wide in the right places for my foot.
