I dunno something about the 933 fit overall is way too snug or constricting, just not a casual crossover shoe whatsoever. I just wear my pair less and less often as an everyday shoe.
[close]

Old man here but I wear my 933s every day to work (desk job) and just to walk around. Even use them on the treadmill or walking a few miles while my kids are at soccer practice and got rid of my running shoes because these just work better for me and I don't need to use an aftermarket insole. I've had a few pairs now since launch, all in my normal dunk size, and I'm wearing the MUSHROOM with STILL WATER colorway now. At nearly 50 and having had lots of foot injuries over the years (Lisfranc fracture, numerous broken toes, plantar fasciitis) the 933 has become my go-to everything shoe. Do what you like with that info. Hope you can find your own goldilocks, too.

Have you tried any shoes other than skate shoes?
Based on the 6 reviews above yours they don't seem like great every day shoes.
I've wanted to buy them but tried them on and they were not comfortable and didn't feel like a good skate shoe.
If you spent $130 on a running shoe, I think you would have your mind blown.

For real.

I started wearing true running shoes whenever I wasn’t skating around when I turned 30. At first I was overly worried I looked like a dorky Seinfeld type but now I wish I had done it sooner. Don’t cheap out either. The “super foams” they use now in the medium to upper priced models are well worth it. Cushion, rebound, and longevity that once you wear for a while will make you not want to touch anything else.

Every company has some version of it now. Your knees will thank you.

Def do not wear skate shoes as everyday shoes. I found my feet and rest of my body feel less sore and are overall my body is more fresh feeling when I wear proper footwear outside skating. Have done this for years and didnt look back.

Let’s be real, this entire conversation is so subjective, what works for some won’t work for all. I get why people hate/love 933, they’re made for a very specific narrow foot type and if you’re any another type they’re not going to be anywhere near as comfortable. As someone whose foot is that very narrow type, I love that shoe, it’s comfy and supportive for me. But I get it’s going to be snug and annoying for any wider of a foot.

There are absolutely shoes that are better for a wider variety of people. 99X series lifestyle new balance for instance. I love 99X series but even comfort within that series varies wildly and individual models from person to person. Personally I hate super foamed out shoes, I struggle with my balance in anything thicker or softer than a 990v6. But that’s going to vary for everyone. Just because buddy likes the 933 doesn’t mean he has no concept of what a comfortable shoe is, that shoe just works better for him.

@cjscoot very well said. Hit the nail on the head. Tried those (new release) new balance ellipse running shoes… max cushion.. crazy unstable, def not shoes for anything but running. So bouncy.

I have a normal foot and 933 feels good doing athletic activity like skating but chilling, stationary, not so much. They def stiff. 990v6 is clutch, I’ve beat those..use em for everything

Agreed! Really hard to beat the 990v6, anything else like those ellipse joints are just too much for me.

Anyone else feel like the flick on the 480 isn't that... accurate? I feel like my flip tricks are better with e.g. the 440 or the 660.
Happened to me too, probably is because on that little extra rubber on the toe. I guess after skating for a while that part goes out and flick standardizes but nobody has time for that

Oh wow. Those are very sick. I have a 440 color way similar to that but would like the cushion of the 480 like that. Damn son.

Yeah which is why I would totally get if they were specific to the event, but they also said the Australian open 770s would be exclusive to Australia NB/shops and slow impact 480s would be exclusive to cowtown, so I’m holding out a little hope haha

I wouldn’t disagree with that, but I own every 480 collab they’ve done to date, including the FNF 8five2s, and I need some hope in my life that I’ll be able to continue that streak 😂

Thinking of adding a pair of white 272s to my rotation of chillers. Weartested says they run 1/2 a size too big but I've got wide feed, can anyone confirm?

I don’t know if I have wide feet but 440s in size 13 fit pretty good while 272s in 13 are tad too big for me. And of course pretty much all brands have decided that 1/2 sizing above size 12 shouldn’t be a thing

I can confirm. I wear a 13 in the 440, 933, 1010. In the 272 I wear a 12 comfortably. I'm a 12.5 by measure. Also the 574 is the same outsole, so its the same in length but the toe shape isn't as tall, so it feels compressed. The 272 is much roomier in height. I think you'll be happy in them.

I agree with others that they run big, but I’ve got narrow feet and they run long more than they run wide for me so your experience may vary.

In my experience, they have wider toebox but nice and snug heel and midfoot. I wouldn't say they're that long though (US10.5, matches other brands). Best fitting NB's for my feet, actually best fitting skate shoes I've tried (I like the 574 better, the thick double foxing tape in 272 bothers me a bit...)

Same length as 508 or 440, but roomier toebox.

probably the 933. also 1010 tread is shallower and flattens out quicker in my experience.
