Been obsessing over the release of the wide NB 574s for months now, and they finally dropped this morning on the NB site.  Before spending the $140cdn on a pair I decided to Google some reviews about the 574 sizing.  I learned that they already released a wide version a few years ago, and the reviews almost unanimously said they were way too narrow even in 2E.  Guess I’ll stick to sk8 lows/mids.

I read the same reviews...how do you make a w-i-d-e shoe and yet it's still narrow? Made me wary of the 440 V2 in wide.

Were the reviews for general release wide 574s? I would just try on the regular numeric 574s and determine if a model thats even slightly wider than that would be worth the purchase. Not to dissuade you from listening to the reviews but I feel like non skaters generally want shoes even wider than what would feel good for skating. For me at least.

Thinking about stacking an ice chest for spring. I have less bread then because I'll have another car then.

I got question first.

The antihero blue meany is 8.75

Does anyone know the wheel base roughly?

Yes, I have one.  It is 14.75 wb which is quite long for some people, but it works well on that board.

Got it used / second hand from a swap / trade and it is a fun board, but I find it is closer to 8.5 than 8.75 where it counts, just in case that matters at all.  I have 149s on it with big cruiser wheels, rather than 159s / 6.1 on regular wheels, but you could still easily run the 6.1 trucks with any of your current wheels on it no problem.

All info on dimensions here:

https://www.tactics.com/anti-hero/shaped-eagle-875-blue-meanie-shape-skateboard-deck/blue-meanie

SIZE   8.75
CENTER WIDTH (IN):   8.75
LENGTH (IN):   32.38
WHEELBASE (IN):   14.75
NOSE (IN):   7.0
TAIL (IN):   6.5
Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

Got to say, those are pretty sick in that raw finish...until you see the yoke...and those stock orange bushings...why not some bushing color flavor?

They should have done that on the inner hanger face not the yoke...and full name, I don't think JH carries the same instant name recognition as say, seeing "Koston/Reynolds" on a truck... Delfino either for that matter...Ribeiro...They're great skaters but if a kid goes into a shop and sees 'Henry' I dunno...shit Tiago got his full name when they could have just slapped Tiago on it and everyone would know who's truck that is.

Way better than Louie's tho - points for black bushings no IKP AND matching the plate...and that plate, would that need a mold or did they engrave that J? I don't gaf about cross/no cross but I like the different flavors of graphics Indy has been doing (front of plate, pivot area, etc).

krooked anchor shape
9.02/32.2/14.34wb

between polar, palace, and now dlx
i have a trifecta of 9” popsicles that can be found locally
for $65 each and no worries about shipping, cant complain
palace ville wester 9.0 is next on the docket
while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo

this looks good.
i’d like to hear how the palace treats you. i haven’t gotten to see one of those in a shop, in a very long time. the shops near me do a great job of stocking what folks want, but that can seem homogenized.
the 9” polar looks so good in person. i don’t skate boards that big (or i rarely do, my body would
prefer an 8-8.25), but whenever i see that board in person i grab it and eyeball it

I was looking for that one, still seems it is either not out or maybe it sold out quickly in some places, but there are a few around, maybe more as the DLX orders come in for some shops later than others.

Krooked "Your good" deck

Also funny some places have it listed as 14.25 wb, but as per the catalog and your post, 14.34 is what it is said to be.

https://socalskateshop.com/Krooked-Gonz-Your-Good-Skateboard-Deck-9-02x32-2.html

That top pic looks really good.  Liking the fact that there is now a more regular length and wheelbase in a 9.0" popsicle that hopefully should be a little more easily available too.

Strongly considering a twin tail slick deck specifically for a few lines I want to film this year. I'm old and more of means, so I can spoil myself like that.

Getting sketched out at buying one online, though. I just never know if I can trust online sellers - like is it actually a slick, or is that a typo in the title?

I went down that wormhole and never will again. Only way Ill put my dragon wheels back on is if Im skating a real crust spot that NEEDS them. other than that they are useless.... IMO atleast

As far as I recall the only TT Slick is the Opera 8.25 / 8.5, which I'm currently riding. The slick is pretty nice, been able to hold onto longer slides but not a game changer.

Oh yeah the Ishod 8.38 TT is also a slick.

Im debating trying something else than my ace 55 to have a lighter 8.5 setup. Maybe waiting for Slappy light if it ever releases in Europe or thunder.
I also don’t know if it’s worth it as I’m only doing basic tricks and learning - even if I can afford it
I like the feeling of my trucks feeling loose (my ace are on hard bushing, a bit less tight than flush) and the short turns / surfy turns but I wonder if I lack a bit of precision and struggle with the weight (and a crappy technique is the ####1 issue obv)

The 440 original or V2's? I usually have heel slipping problems in a lot of shoes but haven't noticed it with the V2's that I just got.

Love my first set of formula four classics from last year and thinking of picking up some 58mm conical or radial fulls. Not sure which would be better for cruising around crusty pnw streets while still being able to get technical.

this reads like some bullshit on the radavist.

58 conical or radial fulls are not tech wheels, imo. to each their own.
also, in my opinion, for the crusty streets….a softer wheel is really helpful. so either dragons, soft sliders, or viagra. hopefully the viagra works for your technical, light single track

I skated the regular ones and they were ok. Nothing to go crazy about but also nothing major to complain. Super 5/10

I've been itching to try the 90-93 duro wheels. I've been on 99D F4 spits for a while. I just started skating chocolate wheels that I got from the 2 board 2 wheel deal they have. And I can't stand these wheels. They say they are 99A but feel like they are much softer than they actually are. SUPER GRIPPY. Remind of the 99D spits that aren't F4 just the standard urethane pour in their cheap wheels. So skating the chocolate wheels with a little more grip just threw what ever hope I have of skating those softer wheels out the window. Maybe some dragons for a cruiser board in the future. But not for a board that i'm sliding, shuviting, or flipping.
We rode 7.5's" and didn't complain.

This probably sounds crazy but I am tempted to buy the new krux hollow lows. I love a lower truck and my crooks were on lock back in the day with krux.
