When my Dragons retire to the dungeon, I’m trying the 93 Spitfires.

Indy 215's. Or Ace AF1 80's.

I have a 10.5" Scram coming: https://northwest-skateboard-distribution-8760.myshopify.com/products/scram-self-possessed-2-deck-10-5

Can't decide. They will both be obscenely large. I do enjoy the turn of the newer Stage 4 Indy's - and apparently 215's maintain Stage 4 geometry? I also love Ace - I rode classics for years.

Might post this on the "Big Boys" thread.

Thinking about trying the Sambas. Anyone skate these? Skating NB 440 right now with annoying heel slip issues.
[close]
I skated the regular ones and they were ok. Nothing to go crazy about but also nothing major to complain. Super 5/10

I just got done with 2 pairs of Sambas and am trying some 440V2 now. The Samba look more classic, but the 440 are better shoes. The Samba flick was really nice for about 3 sessions until the toe bumper rubber was gone and they they kinda sucked and fell apart fast. So far the V2 feel thicker and I can skate the highs without really tightening the laces and get zero heel slip. In the same amount of sessions the flick area has way less wear and my heelflips are super on point. I will likely never buy another Adidas to skate.

My birthday is next month. Skating x97’s.

Wanna get the bark back, and go Spits 93a in 52mm classic.

Also, I’m feeling hella depressed about work with a manager who isn’t very supportive and isn’t really finding ways to use my talents, which makes me feel like he doesn’t think much of me.

Thinking of buying a bunch of shit I don’t need to make myself feel better.
Thanks y’all. It’s been fun.

damn - you can certainly be up front with the manager. There’s a chance he’s threatened by what you can do? Either way there’s something holding you back and that’s not in your best interest. Maybe don’t put it in his hands to find ways to use your talents, but show him and present to him how he could benefit with your talent.

Its going to be really hard for me not to go down the whole soft slider 93a wormhole.

Eyeing some 56mm Radial F4s and 60mm Dragons....

...or get some viagra...
[close]

I went down that wormhole and never will again. Only way Ill put my dragon wheels back on is if Im skating a real crust spot that NEEDS them. other than that they are useless.... IMO atleast

I grew up on 93s/97s, once 99s were the norm, I never looked back; I don't understand why to go back softer. I live in some crust stuff too. Powersliding is a major part of my life, bc of traffic, braking is somewhat needed the way I skate and always did. Maybe soft wheels are better in park? Am I wrong thinking 99a is the pinnacle?

ace af1 tool is the best skate tool in the game. the silver tool is kinda gimmicky, like how often do you set boards up to need that ratchet. the indy jawn looks like it weighs 5 kilos

https://operaskateboards.com/products/sam-beckett-melt-ex7-deck

and

and

https://nhsskatedirect.com/products/stage-11-hollow-delfino-silver-red-standard-independent-skateboard-trucks?variant=41976820203677

through the local to get them paid.

But if anyone wants to talk me out of any of these, I'm all ears.

Some guys on my sesh speak highly of the Beckett boards. They’re one of the only ones that’s says mellow kicks on the description.

Get old stock Madness, until they’re gone. I know you’re putting money into the wrong hands, but every boards meant to be skated.
I’m buying one from a pals stack as he can’t overcome all the boards himself.

Thanks for the mini review. Heel slip is my only issue with the V1’s, not a huge fan of the new N on the V2’s however

I think there's a place for both tools in a skater's life. I like the Ace tool for leaving in my car or in my bag to bring to the session, and I like the Silver tool for back at home when I'm usually setting up or taking apart boards and generally tinkering with my shit.

Op, you ok man? Being real here, you doin alright?

If you're on slap you're definitely setting up boards more often than needed.

It could be, if you don’t have a bearing press and you don’t want to be able to carry it in you pocket.

This is my favorite, for having on me:

vietnamese characters

It keeps me from damaging the seals, when there’s only an hour to skate and I need to change out to different wheels, really fast.

Please let us know which one you get and how you like it….

:) lol

Edited in actual tool, it looks so much better slightly used….

I have one and I can't recommend it.

The plastic body of the tool is larger in diameter than the sockets and prevents the tool from fitting onto the kingpin nut on many trucks. Ironically it's especially bad on some indys.

I have an Ace tool specifically because the Indy wouldn't fit my trucks.

I asked Indy to refund my money and they wouldn't.

I have had a few, only ever broken the deck bolt / kingpin hex head attachment part, but yeah they are chunky and often not so good with kingpins, but the rethreader alone is the main thing I have it for, with other smaller / thinner tools similar to Ace, Spitfire, Modus and others for doing up / taking off deck bolts and kingpin nuts.

Being the original Reflex design patent, they are maybe one of the most expensive skate tools on the market too, as far as a simple enough tool with no moving parts, but the tool itself is solid and the main body in all of mine has held up really well over the many years I have had them - one in each place I work / skate / car, etc.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

Giving serious thought to picking up a Generator G86 deck from skatesamples.com of late.
God help me; I certainly have no need of more wood and yet, here I find myself, rationalizing another bloard.

Anyone ever ridden a Palace 8.2 or 8.3? I usually ride Thunders (usually forged plates) or Ventures and I can't find a good measurement of the kicks. A friend told me they have tiny tails, but there's a Lucas Puig deck on sale I'm tempted by.

will indy 144 works well with april boards? currently using 8.375 mariano deck with 148 thunder standards. thinking to get indy 144 hollow/forged hollow, i wonder how much off my timings will be. wheels now F4 53mm CF.
