Y'all are way to obsessed with Andrew Allen. He does some cool stuff, but overall, his output isn't spectacular. Aside from his backside flip at LA High, I really can't think of much great stuff he's done lately. Are dork tricks like caveman nosegrinds suddenly rad?

Also, even though everybody is going to ignore this point and rage over me making fun of some random slap idol, despite Kyle's hammers, I liked Elijah's part way more. At first I thought Elijah was lame, but he's grown on me, and now I really love his style and trick/spot selection.
Agree on Elijah, disagree on AA. Switch front board drop downs in Hockey II were my favourite.

It's strange to think at one point Elijah was a little Corey Duffel clone riding for Foundation and Osiris. He's come a long way for sure, one of my recent favorites. As previously stated a handful of times the nosegrind nollie flip was incredible.

the nose grind nollie flip that Elijah does is on of the best things I've ever seen.

AA's Hockey part was sick because he mixed in a lot of crustier and lesser skated LA spots. His skating is powerful and he does some unique gnarly switch stuff. He seems to be one of those dudes that looks like he might slam on every trick which makes it sicker. It seems like he's been coming out with a lot of quality footage in the past two years, more than ever.

I agree on the caveman nosegrinds being bullshit tho.

So, he benefits by LA's overall lack of originality when it comes to spot selection? He has some cool switch stuff, but so much of his "switch" barrier skating really is indistinguishable from going fakie, which isn't all that cool to me. He's not terrible, he's just overrated.

In his defense he was something like 14 - 16 when he was being mentored by the Duffman and doing that lone dangly cross earring thing.

I think most of the comparative discussion was meant to be pro-Elijah.

"Rollerblading."

- Bobby Puleo on Kyle Walker's last trick (via @memoryscreen on Insta). Made me laugh.

That trick and part and this video are insane.

Cheer up Bobby, at least they stayed away from your spots.

I can't decide what's more gnarly: Kyle Walker's kinker, or Bobby Puleo's hating.
They're both so sick.

You can't skate kinked rails for ever, hating is eternal. Bobby wins.

I couldn't tell if it was really hating though. My interpretation was it's so unreal and he made it look so easy that it resembled rollerblading.

Bobby's a legend, his influence is so far-reaching that he gets discussed in a Vans video thread.

Me too, but it's funnier to imagine him sitting in his basement fuming over every new video part that comes out :D

It's not Bobby's Mac he let himself in to use someone else's stuff, he doesn't believe in personal possessions anymore unless possession relates to skate spots, his skate spots.

True story: he serves food at a Mexican restaurant in Greenpoint Brooklyn.
It was a trip to have him deliver me my taco bowl personally to my table.

And your not going to drop the name of said restaurant? It's almost worth a trip to NYC just to dine there.

I can't imagine Bobby Puleo has the kind of personality to be successful in the food service industry.

Bobby didn't like Kwalks hammer because it didn't have a bank rideaway.

hahaha this! One doesn't simply just give away the location of a restaurant, are you guys even "core" restaurant patrons or what?

I was surprised how effortlessly he did it. King of the Road showed me he was way more versatile than I thought, but he rarely does switch tricks in general.

Asked this in the video thread. I know quite a few vans riders didn't have clips but they were mostly transition guys and legends. Anyone know why Gilbert Crockett didn't even get a clip? He battling injuries or something.

Gilbert's pants were deemed too wide by the Van Doren Rubber Co, so his footage is being saved for an upcoming project centered around riders who run loose pants.

I am guessing venue/bustcrew video, but it is weird he didn't have one clip.
