I got a pair of asics japan s, not the skate version, but the regular one. It is made of synthetic leather and don't know how it will hold on when skating but it looks and feels great walking and it is also very easy to find on sale.

[close]
Those are clean. Did you purchase them from asics?
I haven’t skated in mine but great for walking as you mentioned.
I got them from a shoe/sneakers store and there was big a sale on the outlet models. I have wanted to try this model for quite some time and now i am quite happy with it.

did they have a synthetic sticker. i find it odd on the Asics website some are labeled as synthetic as in you have to just sarch randomly.

Yes. 2 rhombs (synthetic) and 1 mesh (textile) symbols. Most of the regular japan s now are made of synthetic materials but i have seen some colorways with suede toe caps and have read that in the past this model was made with leather. As fof the asics skate shoes though i think they still don't have any vegan release. So if you buy online it is good to check the colorway you like in multiple websites to make sure they are synthetic. But also there is the problem that on some pages there are often mistakes that some models are marked as suede or leather, but they are not, for example in bulgaria i have ordered twice etnies vegan joslin that was marked as suede on the page, i bought them, bu t i knew from the official page that they were vegan. Crazy shit.

anyone skate the winkowski shoe? Just curious about it still, even though he's no longer skating for them. How's the fit?
[close]

the omen high winkowski was a great show but ran a little small compared to other Emerica. The new Winkowski with the rubber toe cap is extra long, not tts. size down half a size
appreciated

Good news for people who like synthetic NB#440:
The #440 in the black/olive will be restocked in August and once again before the end of the year. Then, there will be a new synthetic colorway of the #440 in the first drop of 2026.

you think they're ignoring us or not seeing these inquiries? more synths please

Not ignoring at all!  I just got back from a 3 day tradeshow so I haven't been on here much.  Gotta ask the design team when the next synth is, we usually have 1-2 a year for you guys.  Give me a sec to check with them.

Anyone got eyes on the 440v2 high WIDEs? I've the low wides and the high non-wides and I can't bring myself to skate the hi-non wides (size 10.5, just worn inside a few times, HMU if interested). @rothdigga any chance we'll seen a synthetic high like the 440 wide (blk/olive)?
[close]
I don't think we have any vegan/synth hi's coming soon but let me verify first.

@rothdigga next synthetic vegan-but-NB-cant-technically-call-them-vegan options on the horizon?

That new NM440VBS is the newest one if you want to search it out.  After that, I would have to look to see what's next coming after it but it'll be a 272 again maybe?  I'll see what i can find out.
[close]
These stall tactics can only go on for so long Jason, haha. Just tell us there's nothing coming and we'll stop asking and move on to buy something else
[close]
Just to follow up on the synthetic talk, I had to re-order the NM440VBS recently just to get some stock in of a vegan option for everyone.  That's just a stopgap one for us until we have a new 440 vegan colorway but that's not until 2026.  So...440VBS re-stock coming around Aug (I know, not as soon as some would like) then a new vegan 440 in Q1 2026.  My guess is that I will re-stock 440VBS one more time before the end of 2025 to make sure there's enough carryover for those who need it.
Hope that helps!

Personally, I'm going to skate through my stock of LRAB and Globe, until IPATH drops those hemp colorways of the Grasshopper and the low-top Cats. As much as I like NB#, and appreciate the communication in the NB# thread, the #440 isn't for me.

I honestly just wish NB# would do another non-440 vegan (cupsole) model because as we know, that shoe doesn't work for everyone

still on my always superstars and then I have some crickets, last pair of spankys and yet another pair of synth superstars on ice so I should be good for the meantime.

As someone who has bought multiple pairs of the vegan 440s (both v1 and v2) I would 100% support/buy/prefer vegan options in other NB models (yes I’m talking about the Reynolds 933)

yeah, I would totally be down for the boss’ shoe in synth, I know they could make it work because 420s used to skate so good, but I guess only time will tell…

Found them in all white synthetic leather for like 23€ in Vinted. Pulled the trigger out of curiosity, wonder how they skate.

They also have the brown/black heretics on the site, labeled as (not vegan) suede & synthetic. a little after 54 min. into rose anvil video andrew mentions folks asking for vegan version and that he "wants" to find a material that would work. i don't think they are in the pipeline unfortunately. i don't buy that the materials from 440 wouldn't work on other models. having no 440s in last drop and the next ones being seasons out and a rerun of the black/olive (which are nice) shows synth is still after thought. crazy how no one offers a consistent cup option. would love to try 933 but fear it would be a one off like ksl

oh really, that's sad because the way he answered me seemed like they were already in the works.

I don't buy the whole "this material wouldn't work" either because we already had the 420 which was only ever vegan and they skated fine... I’m also rocking some vegan 990v5 which are made from imitation pig suede and would skate fine imho

personally, i've given up on nideckertech. using copywriting like this comes across intentionally misleading:
"STI Energy Foam Footbed - Full-length foam cushion that absorbs impact for long-lasting comfort during intense sessions."
it's just and sti insole but they seem to want us to infer it's a midsole. what insole isn't "full length"?  they lied about mute having "full length" midsole too. with them now having nidecker money there is even less excuse for this crap. if they can't be upfront with their supporters they can fuck off in my book... anybody tried the Village PM yet?

I have not seen any synthetic 933's in the near future seasons so far.  Maybe it's something that AR has in mind but as of right now, nothing on the calendar for it.
