I ride strictly 8.75s but am thinking a 9" popsicle for my next deck. I have 159s. Do 159 indys work well on a 9", or would y'all suggest snagging some 169s?

Id personally stick with 159’s...unless its a full shape.

Also depends if you like a slight amount of magic carpet, like i do

Thanks man, Yeah I usually like a little extra width in my truck, magic carpet style. Might invest in some Ace 55s, or 169s. do you know if 55s are bigger than 159s?

169s on 8.75” is nice -if you end up not liking the big boy

Sick flips! I want a little curb/parking bumper in my garage now too!

These big shaped boards are so fun to ride, I haven't wanted to skate this much since I was a teenager. I don't even want to ride my 8-8.5 boards anymore either. I just want to ride the small boards (7.75-7.9) to get new flat ground tricks in the garage this winter, then translate those tricks to the big boards as soon as I can. I actually like the heft of these big boards for a lot of different things.

This thread showed me the light!

Thinking about taking my first dive into #egglife and ordering that 9.4 and strapping on some Ace 66s.

Also thinking about waiting for that 9.3 ditchwitch.

or the 9.25 DMODW

Or all of them.
ok thanks

Orchard has a 10” very big gold egg left on their site or on paradeworld. The more I ride mine, the more I love it.

Still on 169s with the risers and cruiser wheels, and I normally don't like magic carpets, but I like how this feels a lot. The 55mm Mini Super Juice are very wide, which is helping a ton here. The huge board platform and weight also balances out some of the negative effects I sometimes get from magic carpet set ups I think.

I did however just order some Ace 66s for it. Will use them with no risers, and some thin 53mm wheels. Will save the cruiser wheels and risers for when I'm solely cruising with it.

Does anyone know if the Crailtap Couch/Loveseat decks are made of the current wood? I assume so since these released in June, but the product image lacks the laser engraving that all the current wood decks have (I'd rather not buy it and go through the hassle of returns if it turns out it's the old wood).

Big boys and girls, I can't decide between indy 215s or 169s.
What do you all recommend getting for my first big boy setup?

Depends on the size/shape of the board really - and how you want it to feel/how/what you skate.

If it's 10"+ go with 215s;
If it tapers around the trucks - 169s
If it tapers a lot (egg) and it's closer to 9" - maybe even  go down to 159s
If your wheels are huge, like 66mm+ keep in mind that they will also make the trucks seem larger, if they stick out past the axle nut.

If you want versatility go for 169s
215s if you want something radically different (and loose, they suck when they’re tight)

Ace 66 are in between, but closer to the 169s.
If you're set on Indy, I agree that 169s will be more versatile - both with skating and deck choice (you should consider that it will be significantly easier to find boards that "fit" 169s than it is for 215s.)

Thank you guys, I think I'll go with the 169s since I don't really have a board in my mind and they're more versatile. :)

Those blazers have been good to you! And the 159s will work good on a lot of shaped decks.

My new setup (back to skate after 15 years):

Creature 9x33 15WB
Indy 169
Risers 1.25' and 0.25' - will use if needed
Wheels:
Hawks 63mm 78a
Old RICTA 52mm 99a

Have plan to change Ricta to some OJ 53-55mm
