Baker 9.25 Shaped (redrilled wb)
Ace 55
F4 Conical Full 56 99a
Reds
1/8 risers
redrilling my wb,
First time not as straight as I would have liked but can barely notice it. From 14.8" to just under 14.5". Feels great, overall length is still a bit much for my 5'5 self though.  Felt bad covering the top but can't do clear grip.

I've got 6 hole Indy baseplates that I've used before to redrill, but it only changes it a small amount.

Tried a new way ant it worked pretty good.  Took a smaller board and made it the baby spoon and then put bolts through both decks and into a baseplate.  Then at the front used the smaller deck's holes as guide to dril new ones.  It was super late at night, so I didn't even use a powered drill motor.  Just chucked up the bit and turned it by hand.  Worked fine.

I did mine with a 6 hole baseplate. Problem I worked out was I used two different kinds of hardware to mount it, meaning the heads weren't the same = slightly uncentered  holes. That was completely my bad but no biggie. I like  your idea though! Will try it next time.

Black baseplates still look rad nonetheless. Modus risers are a great fit for Ace’s.

That deck is over 10.25" wide. Really no to 66s? This has probably been covered but what does Winkowski ride on that deck?

SC Wink Primevil (VX)
Ace 55 w/indy top washer (it's minutely smaller=looser trucks) on 1/4 risers
Spitfire Conical Full 99a 58mm
No noticable difference with the carbon fibre yet... Will see if the nose gets smashed as easily...

SC Wink Trash Panda
Indy 159 w/Bones Mediums on 1/4 risers
Bones V6 99a 56mm
-Powell rat nuts on the nose because I smashed up the nose. Have PVC glued the chips back on several times, seeing if these nuts keep it together. Love the way it looks though!

Winkowski says he rides 159s in his product pillage video + OJ Team Riders 61mm

fatty swap out.
I tried, but just can't hang with a 15" wheelbase. Lesson learned. Also the tail was huge on the Lance. And I'm not really a fan of a super fished out rear. I did like the nose though. Hopefully I can pawn it off to someone.
Put this Gonz on. 14.38 WB.
Downsized from a 60 F4 classic to a 56. And ditched the risers.
So far I'm very much liking the change.

Super nice setups.

How does the vx feel?
Also what is going on with the nose of the trash panda?

For the discussion: I rode 159s and 169s on the winkowski and liked both a lot. 159 just have a snappier turn, so I get that.

Also the deck has such a ‚narrow waist‘ that over the trucks it isn‘t that wide. So even though it is over 10“ wide it suits 9“ trucks pretty well with the freedom to step up all the way to 10“.
A friend used to ride it on 215s with small spits classics and it felt so good!
Really depends on whether you want the board to feel smaller or bigger

Indy aftermarkets - the orange ones, they feel harder and a little more responsive than the stock ones -which are so much better than they used to be, but the aftermarkets are still my preference.

I'm getting older and although i do like to spend about 30 minutes a year on a board in the 8" range and rode a 8.6-8.75 for awhile, I find that once they are broken in they feel too small. I got a scram earth ski 9.5" troll deck with 169s and 54mm oj ditch witch. nice and low and after riding 149s and 159s for a decade a decided to size up and they feel great. Chico Brenes borrowed my board at les skatepark and rode it for awhile complementing the pop and he really liked the feel, his 8.75 was nice and light but still felt a lil skinny, 149s on the shaped 8.75 chocolate deck with 52mm spitfires. I got some 9"-9.25" popsicle and shaped decks ready to grip but I'm holding onto this scram deck as long as I can. wide decks seem to save my feet and yeah you should ride a board you have fun on, what big deck are you working with?

Thank you for starting the best thread on Slap.
I credit you solely for Chico skating bigger boards in 7x7.

So sick. I have the same deck +169 std. How's your wheelbite with the 169 and no risers + 56mm, considering your weight and truck tightness? The OG Classics have been on my list.

Been skating the Gonz for the last few weeks. Super fun for curbs and other low impact street stuff but I can't flip it for shit. I have 151s on it but about to try it with 55s. It is going to be relegated to cruiser status soon as I haven't landed a good kick flip in 2020 yet...

Anyway, what trucks you rolling with on that?

I'm 6'1" and weigh 165 and somehow I rarely get wheelbite on very loose trucks. After 27 years of skating I've been through every bushing set up there is and after finally feel comfortable on 78a's.  I'm 39 years old so I'm not jumping down stairs or anything, mainly slappies, manual pads and mini ramp. I'd suggest getting risers for anyone else though.

Thanks! I've been staring at it for hours. I almost don't want to skate it and ruin it's beauty.
