I’m too much of a coward to step to a 9+ but I woke up today and all I wanted to do was skate my Passport spade, (8.8 I think) and it was a great time, recently put some Oski radials on it from OG Classics and it skates like a dream.

The stub nose makes things trickier but it felt great when the Ollie’s leveled out like normal

I set mine up again the other day as well with some  af1 55s I had laying around. Thing feels so small and nimble coming from 8.75 popsicles. Great fun for cruising and ollieing, but the nose isn’t that functional for me.

honestly, my girl loveseat felt smaller than my spade, at least in terms of whipping it around. The spade is very similar to The Polar Shin surf shape, which now also comes in 9.0 too. It’s funny, I couldn’t really nollie well on the spade, but I got the point where I could really jam in noseslide tricks on it, whereas on the polar I always felt like there wasn’t enough room on the nose….
Anyway, I think you’d be surprised if you rocked a loveseat or couch shape, the tiny wheelbase makes them really nimble and they have full noses so all of your nollie tricks will be fine!
Pic of said spade nose for reference:

This may be one of the largest conventionally available decks on the market. The Alva Pescado Grande rings in at 37" x 12" with an 18" wb. It's about the only deck I've seen that makes 215s look small.

How much does an extra 4 inches affect pushing? (And insert whatever silly joke there)

the pescado graphic layout bothers me. I assume maybe it was limited by board shape and screen size, but leaving the head right at the truck mount is a shame. I do bet that board is a fun shape to skate though.

Yeah, the size definitely takes some adjusting to. I stepped off an 8.0 and on to this and pushed right into the deck the first time.

It's a barrel of monkeys to ride for sure. It is a shame about the graphic running into the truck mount, I noticed that when I first set it up.

Just ordered my first 9" skateboard.  I've gone up as far as 8.88 and usually skate 8.75.  I love the newish line of Dead Dave graphics from Heroin, so I had to order one.

I liked the new Dave series a lot too. Got the same graphic, but I came from a long time of skating the 10 inch Mutants, so it felt really weird to be back on a popsicle again. The first session felt so sketch, but I was able to pop my tricks higher. Riding Indys again after 6 months of just my Ace 77s didn't really make this proces any easier, but during the second session everything felt familiar already. I never have trouble sizing up, but sizing down and adjusting to that feels terrible.

Thought this looked fun, maybe it was the new curb killer and nail gun boards but super fun today.
Felt like I’ve been killing myself skating with the fun being minimal. Been missing my curbs.
Heroin curb killer 3 symmetrical 10
Ace 66 classic w/krux hollow kingpins(used a super Cush top bushing)
Spitfire 52 f4 classic 99a
Quantum isotopes
Bender 7/8 allen
Lil jawn moth shape

So apparently the Krooked 9.81 is not the Sweatpants shape but actually the Guerrero Dub shape. Any body have any info on that? I figured maybe it was an old Tommy shape resurrected many years later but I got nothing back on a web search.

So I’ve been skating the AH Orange eagle 9”, mostly because of how highly it’s been recommended. I love it. It’s like they took a small board and just made it super big. Lengthwise it’s a boat tho.

I also got it to start trying different Woodshops, to kind of broaden my horizon, and narrow the field in regards to future boards.
Mine didn’t have a Roman numeral, but I thought all BBS DLX boards did? It did have the “Skat within your abilities, made in Mexico”-sticker. I’m in Europe if that matters.

Yellow top and blue bottom plies, getting prettier and prettier with wear.
Im too dumb to figure out how to make this drawing my profile pic.

Around 95% of my decks are BBS, and only a couple had the roman numeral pressed into the top ply.

Am seriously thinking about getting an Antihero 9" deck, am currently riding an 8.6 but as I get older and am mainly skating curbs it seems to make sense.
