Don't know if it's just me getting old but this winter in particular is one of the harshest I've seen here. Super dry cold and at the same time still penetrates your bones, think countryside style. I always absolutely adored winter for skating though (fall being my favorite season), and I love layering up. Battling heat into your legs with every push all the while engulfed in two pairs of pants, long sleeve shirt under a couple of hoodies if necessary and then a jacket, scarf. I was never one to care about looks, I just want to feel like I'm in a blanket whilst skating at this point - softens slams too. People have given me shit before because even in the summer I'll be wearing long sleeves and hoodies (I've skated in Rio de Janeiro in long sleeves) but I'll gladly roll with that because either way I'm going to keep doing it.
