Idk if it's a conspiracy theory but it's and industry held secret that Peanut Brown pushed Jason Jesse off the deck of a very ramp at one of his first pro contest for calling him a nigger. Go Skate Day is the exact opposite of Christmas to get board sales up in the slow part of the year, Dave Swift has one of the 2 pair of Indy roller skate trucks that were made at Emerico before Fausto found out lost his shit. In the 80s all the major board mfg got together and decided they weren't gonna use anymore than 4 colors on their board graphics to save money and that's why Brand X started doing all those crazy 8+ color graphics as a fuck you to the industry.

Big brand companys offer riders incentives to either start their own or ride for smaller companies. Causing an over saturated market for skateboard brands. This causes more diverse options so the money spent on decks is distributed more widely, making skaters rely more so on their corporate shoe sponsor for a living wage... or some shit like that

someone (maybe Dill?) once said that some companies will have their graphics printed on PS Stix for their riders and sell shit wood to the customers.

This theory about Girl/Chocolate boards has gone around for a long time. I'm not sure I buy it, just because Olson talked about how hyped he was on skating DLX boards when he was between Girl and 917. Plus, you see footage of BA and Corey when they were on Girl and there blatantly riding DLX boards.

That 9/11 and the economy after that killed board sales for many companies, where now shoes are peoples primary paycheque. Although, I think that just more coincided with the rise or blanks and shop boards. But a bunch of Alien and Habitat guys talk about this.

2nd vote would be for PJ. sometimes it is a fine command of the english language to say nothing and he extended that to skating. PJ's plan B part is the emperor's new clothes.

for being gay. And someone else took the blame because Danny was up and coming.

There are companies that had better wood for their riders. Kayo and Zero are boards I've personally seen. They had some boards that were impossible to break, they would just bend and warp like crazy. Compared to the normal boards that were in shops around here, it was day and night.

At some point they all were using bones mediums in those. I remember seeing an indy ad with BA and Koston and they both had bones bushings.

In the battle at the berrics, how much movie magic is actually used in the editing room during these games? I refuse to believe professionals are so good at skateboarding that they do not consecutively fall on flatground tricks in a game of SKATE. It's disingenuous to the layman and sets an unrealistic expectation for me and my fellow flat-g connoisseurs. I want to see my favorite pros slam on my go-to tricks

I've always though they took out double misses when someone fails to set a trick.

Didn't some Euro bitch during the USA vs the World BATB that Morgan Smith re-filmed a trick?

Fun fact: that guy released a interview on Muckmouth implicating "someone" but has since been removed and the closest you can get to reading about it is a small quoted excerpt on this message board.

Truck companies purposely sell shitty bushings in their trucks to save costs and encourage the sale of aftermarket bushings.

Pros were encouraged in their setup videos to pop shields so that kids and consumers would start doing it to sell more bearings, how much longer they last without popped shields is very significant.

Shoe brands like adidas and Nike use good materials for the first release of a shoe when all the reviews will be done, with each subsequent batch made they use cheaper and lower quality materials in certain places to offset lower sales and increase their profits.

Johnny Layton was kicked off Toy Machine for his "bad back" when in reality he was skating as good as ever and selling lots of weed in efforts to support his then unborn child. At least he blessed Toy with the dick pic on his way out.

There used to be this guy who sold cheap ass boards with spray painted logos on them out of his garage here that legit wouldn't break. They would just get soggy and bend.

I had to quit buying those because if my board didn't break my parents wouldn't get me a new one because it was still "fine"
