Shoes & Gear / Re: Last Resort AB - The Thread.

I’ve bought a pair of milic drop 12. For now I really struggle with board feel.
I’ve only skated it twice, does it get better with time ? I’m only doing quick sessions because I’m not ready to sacrifice a whole session on those

My previous pairs were ishod 1 / Nyjah 2 which were really good to skate. I’m skating a pair of puig indoor but after less than 10 sessions it’s already loosing all of its structure (and I’m far from being advanced skater)

I’ve been surprised with those milic and how well made they are. I find the stitching and finishing extremly good, especially  for a <100€ pair of shoes so I hope they’ll break and « open up »

what’s the hot bartender got to do with any of that

Well, it got me visualising hot bartenders, so I'm pleased.

I mean it's definitely better than the rest of the post

Don’t you hate a good pair of shoes with a shitty board.

Cavs got taken out by injuries. Still proud of them making it past the 1st round. Hopefully they can build on it next year.

I can think of some better ways to spend $950k, but good for him I guess! It's destiny!

Whoa! It'll grow in value, but damn that's a wild price tag.

Art, skate and city history... pretty dope it ended up in the hands of someone who sees it purely as Skate history.

The thing is relatively tiny. 96 x 96 x 48 in. (243.8 x 243.8 x 121.9 cm.)

I think Rob got swindled.

Okay, the original ones were 12 fr. tall, this is 8. Not bad. The original ones have gone for $4 mil.

Off topic (kinda) : But does anyone know how to Speed ramp with (audio still attached) in Adobe Premiere? Usually when I speed ramp in Adobe Premiere it does the effect very nice but the audio gets left out of sync. Hope I'm making sense. If anyone knows the solution to this please let me know! Or if anyone know some step-by-step tutorial on youtube that teaches how to get the effect done .... share the link! Thank you !!

PHOTOS/VIDEO / Re: SOTY video parts
« Last post by The Mexican Nancy Chin on Today at 02:40:54 PM »
In recent years it tends to be a ton. Off the top of my head, Ave won for Propeller and to a lesser extent his stuff in Boys of Summer. BA won for Jump off a Building and his euro contest stuff that year. Koston won for Mouse and winning Tampa, Arto won for Sorry, Apples for Really Sorry, Carroll for FTC-Finally and Goldfish, Ishod won for his Fourstar part in Philly, his Sabotage 3 part and most importantly his Chronicles 2 part, MJ for his Fully Flared Part. Those are the only SOTY runs I vividly remember. I know the main parts for other ones, but can't pinpoint all the parts they dropped.
Arto actually won in 2001 which was the year before Sorry. He didn't put out a part that year. Always found it interesting that he won the year in between putting out 2 legendary parts (Menikmati was the year prior). Anyone who was around at the time know why he won? I assume magazine coverage and maybe contests? Even Burnett seems to have gotten confused and said he won from Menikmati (maybe you actually used to be able win SOTY from stuff you put out the year prior but I doubt it):
"I was trying to figure out the timeline and the photos from your SOTY interview are Sorry tricks. You got Skater of the Year based off of Menikmati because Sorry hadn’t come out yet." link: https://www.thrashermagazine.com/articles/the-year-i-got-soty-arto-saari/

Maybe photographers do it less because shooting a bit too late does not look bad, unlike too early, like this one,

I thought it was a kickflip at first glance.

I dont understand how that 360 flip would complete the rotation - how does the nose (at the back in the photo) not clip the trash can? Maybe its the angle but my brain isn't understanding the flip...

Probably speaks to it being a confusing and not great photo.

For me it is exactly the other way around. I love that photo because of the confusion it adds – considering only makes get published.

The evolution theory of @bigmike makes sense, but aesthetically i still prefer the 90s street skating photography.

That is a clean looking shoe as well.
