USELESS WOODEN TOY BANTER / Re: John Motta of demons
« Last post by RoaryMcTwang on Today at 01:18:03 AM »
Just going to say that John is one of my friends and I’ve known him for many years now - I’m not a religious person whatsoever, however I’ve hung out with him many times since he has started making these videos and he has not once brought up or mentioned these things to me in person.  Every time we go skating together he is the same kind and hilarious friend that he’s always been to me, and while it’s somewhat irrelevant to this conversation I’ll say that he is still incredibly talented at skating.  His part in the new Happy Medium video Colors was so sick and probably my favorite part of the year so far.  But yeah, I’m guessing that anyone who has actually hung out with him in person would have only positive things to say about their experiences.  I am not trying to defend the things he says in these videos, just offering a different perspective.

Very glad to hear this. Thanks for sharing.

I don't like it when the roll away from a trick is too short. It always feels like the trick is incomplete. There were a few in Gabbers part. Nothing wrong with Gabbers though. It's all me. It's like a weak orgasm.

The 868 and 913 were a bit too ahead of their time -  I’ve always thought a retooled / techier 868 would be the direction Reynolds’ shoe would go…

Also wouldn’t be surprised if it goes above the 1010

I missed out on both 868 and 913 when they launched, and the 868 especially looked over-produced for the time. But it grew on me over the wear and picked up 3 pairs from a pal a few months back, zero regrets despite the weird sizing (1/2 size up). The 913 was a weird one, it was very narrow for a tech (higher number) shoe. The sole fell off after a session which is a good thing since they were never going to work for me at that size.

We taking bets on the first digits on Reynold's pro model? I say it starts with 6xx.

In his latest video doing his mini shoe rack reviews the two shoes he says that skate the best are Etnies. Which I think is pretty interesting.

He says they aren't his favourites for other reasons but for skating they are the best.

Id be tempted to try the first pair but I honestly cannot imagine a shoe better than the nb1010

For anyone asking who Georgia Martin is? Now they know.
Impressive debut with a pro board thrown into the mix.

Might to re-watch but Miles Willard felt like he could have had last part during the early 00s era with all the hippies and bible bashers on the squad.

Hobban's got a few tricks and spots in there that are on a nother level.

I hadn't noticed Leabres since that one emerica video but his opening part is pretty rad.

What's the slimmest looking halfcab? They look good in photos but kinda potatoey and stupid on my feet. I skated them a lot mid to late 2000's and I swear they were somewhat slimmer. I know there's a lot of different versions, just can't find what I'm looking for.

Skater owned used to be really important to me.

Sadly, a lot of the skater owned companies acted like we owed them rather than we were all part of the community.

While some companies do hold up their end of the bargain, a lot refuse to do shit for the scene. I think Ocean did a good job explaining how they were supposed to act:
