WHATEVER / Re: Israel's right to exist

Plenty of genetic studies that show Ashkenaz jews are primarily descended from the same folks as middle eastern jews and closely related.  Cohenaim in particular are tightly related across Jewish groups.  I'd be happy to provide actual links if folks are interested.  0% genetic evidence that the "khazar theory' of Ashkenazi jews being descended from khazar converts true.

Missing the point though-- Judaism is a tribe.  Jews are not obsessed with Genes.  As a tribe, we descend from folks that were exiled from ancient Israel, with converts and adoptions mixed in. The fact that Ashkenazi jews (some) are part European and that yemenite jews part arab irrelevant.  It is a tribal ethno-religious group.

You aren't going to be able to kick us out of Israel and the comparisons to South Africa are absurd.

Hope everyone has been well!

Kobe died in the same kind of conditions without mountains. Adding mountains just seems like a guaranteed crash.

Bill Burr talks a lot about how hard it is to fly helicopters and that the physics behind them make them more prone to mechanical stalls...scary shit, Schwarzenegger said when he was gov of California he took helicopters almost daily from LA to SAC

I'll preface this by saying I don't have a tiktok account.
I used to think tiktok dances were cringe based on a knee jerk reaction. But now I'm just glad people are dancing. People in America have been so discouraged from dancing. We have been made to feel ashamed of dancing. Remember how they treated disco? I'm just glad anyone is dancing in 2024.

Disco was treated that way because it was a gay/black thing, sadly

this is very strange in my eyes.... The US to me is one place where dancing is absolutely encouraged, it's just everywhere. Commercials, movies, all over pop culture basically. what's more american than cheerleaders?? that's dancing.
let me add disco was also a very euro thing: Giorgio Moroder, the Munich machine, Abba, Boney M.
and as for every music genre, some of it was brilliant, some was horrible. Super corny. as a young punker kid, I used to hate it with a passion, but some of those Donna Summer/Moroder records made me change my mind. That and Chic! Bernard Edwards was a monster on the bass.

Did you know Boney M was a lip-syncher?   Many years later, the same producer tried the same formula over (black lead singer who could dance, but not sing) and came up with Milli Vanilli

...Cerrone also had crazy covers in the disco era.

I remember when I was a little kid my mom bought a Cerrone album and I used to trip on the cover so much. It was a bunch of naked dudes wearing dog masks and some doctor. or something
Supernature!

Imagine Logan Paul on loan to NJPW. Those matches would have David Meltzer losing it.

I'm having shit luck with ordering things online lately.. Anyone have trouble with skate warehouse not replying to emails or sending tracking info? I ordered a board last Thursday and haven't heard a thing back from them even after emailing them twice.

Back in the day he was pro for Rookie, a smaller NY-based company. He had clips in the EST video magazine, photos in mags.

I mean I don't know him or have ever met him, but he's always in the mix and is very well-liked. I think Ted Barrow called him the "guru of good times" once.

His brother is Marc Razo I believe, who was maybe a co-owner or manager of Max Fish if I'm not mistaken. Since that bar was (is?) a big deal in skating, I guess that helped.

He had a board on Shut too! But yeah, he's a ripper and everyone seems to have great things to say about him all the time.

Disappointing how badly new Shut fell off. A legendary East Coast company done by Diamond in its prime with a solid East Coast team of Supreme heads, Max Fish patrons, and Felix.
