Shoes & Gear / Re: Slappy trucks (Mike Sinclair's new brand)

My local has some aftermarket bushings in 90a for slappy trucks. Does anyone know what the OG durometer for these trucks is? Are 90a softer than stock bushings?

I thought their stock bushings were 90 duro.

They did have a couple of options in different duros in aftermarket bushings though, from what I saw or read.

* Trying to find any more info but I can't see anything about them anywhere right now, including any other duro options for their aftermarket bushings as well.

SLS have him as the favourite for the Apex event

Kinda sad they promote betting on it, but equally sad that he's the favourite. And also that Pine isn't in it, and that there's only eight competitors after building a giant spot.

I actually reached out to several different people to get in this one and thought it might happen. haha might just show up with my board and see if luck is in my favor that day.

This has been an issue since they moved production to China. I had to give up on Indy after 16 years because of this. After trying a couple different sets, and going through a dozen cups, it wasn't worth it anymore.

Also, it's called a "pivot", people. Hence the cup it sits in being the "pivot cup".
"hanger nub" was pretty funny tho.

Ha yeah, I think someone from a skate distro called it the hanger nub when trying to explain what part was broken, so that was the easiest way to explain it, eg the hanger nub sits in the pivot cup in the baseplate.

Nub meaning:
A nub is a little piece of something, especially one that sticks out.

Not a worry either way, but there are some thicker, more solid pivot cups out there that make it a little more comfortable fitting and don't sound like a busted pivot cup the way the thin and hard stock ones do at times, or when worn in, as per a few that people have asked about on their own boards.

As for Jason Ellis, he is trying to be a comedian? that is a joke for sure.

Basic tip - a good interviewer is a good listener.

I might be the only person that likes those. They'll work with the right gear at at least look a little different.

Maybe this is better for the unpopular opinions of 2024 thread but until the Nine Club I honestly don't think anyone really cared about Jeron's skating all that much. He was always good and had clips in videos, but it's not like people were waiting for a Jeron part like they would for other skaters that came up in the same period. He always struck me as a better version of Daniel Castillo in that regard. You never went to a shop hoping you could get the new Jeron deck or something. Now that we see the human side of him we elevate his footage way more than we would have in the past.
I feel like this was the same way for Chico. When he started riding shapes boards and posting on Instagram a lot, it really raised his profile. Before that, he was kind of a bench warmer for chocolate. I’m not saying he wasn’t talented, but he was never looked at in the same realm as Kenny/mj/keenan/gino/sj. I think people are more stoked that he was killing it so hard well into his 40’s
