Earlier in this thread someone said “you think you want 501s but what you really want is 550s”. I just got some 550s and couldn’t agree more. Super comfortable and just baggy enough to not look like a midlife crisis at my age.

550s are pretty good. I can’t stand 501 and 505 because there wasn’t much room through the thighs. Both felt weird to skate in especially when bending. They may have been better if I sized up, but 550s never disappoint even when getting the normal size. I did like the 569s, but prefer the tapered legs of the 550 more.

I got the Gonz Adidas pants.

The fit is good. I like the green contrast stitching and the embroidery on the back-right pocket. They are a bit on the thin side, which is good for warmer weather. These will probably rip if I take any heavy slams, but are so comfortable I’m thinking of getting the shorts as well.

They’re alright, but I’ve had the buttons snap on two pairs of Spitfire jeans and the Real Tough Threads pants. It’s not worth $85. If you replace the button with a better one after it breaks, they’re worth it if you get them on sale. DLX has some for $35 after using the current discount, which is worth it.

TLDR:
If you’re paying retail for pants, find Carhartt WIP, Polar or Passport that are on sale. The price might be close, but the quality isn’t.

my brother in law is really into work wear and stuff like filson, he recently went to japan and was raving about some brands and how cheap they were.  So I went online and was shocked to learn about Tobi pants....

I read an interview where Casper Brooker talks about getting all his pants tailored so I realized I could just do the same. 550 are a bit too low rise for me and give me diaper ass, but I found some basic J Crew wide leg denim that fits nice up top so I took some old Silvertabs I got off eBay to a tailor as a template and made my own newer version.

I would think of DBZ if those were orange, but they kind of look like nutsacks if you cover up everything below the knees.

Has anyone noticed a change in the cut of the Huf Cromers?

I have a pair in size 38 from 2 years ago and they are super baggy and extra long in the inseam. I just bought another pair of size 38 this week and it's way slimmer/tighter in every dimension, much more tapered looking, and even a shorter inseam.

I’m not sure about the inseam or tapering but they used to be loose in the waist. I think the waist used to be 1-2” bigger than the tag. The ones I got from a more recent drop have a waist size that is close to the tag or possibly smaller. Also, there isn’t as much room in the thighs as ones from previous drops.

It’s slightly off topic but there is a huge variation in sizing for the tees as well. I’m not sure if they use different factories based on the drop or if they changed fits over time. It’s just not worth it for me to buy HUF at retail because sizing isn’t consistent. I moved onto Pass~Port Worker’s Club jeans, but they aren’t as baggy as Cromer jeans from a couple years ago.

Ok glad I'm not going crazy, definitely noticing that the waist is exactly as advertised, no more vanity sizing

Same here, had some size 34 from when they first came out that was reeeeeally baggy and hella long. Got some peach colored ones off vinted for cheap recently and they fit way closer to the 32 even though being 34

that's annoying because the whole reason to buy these jeans is because they are cheaper and more consistent than Polar...

Yeah, at first Polar’s were only core shops and they didn’t come in regularly.  It seemed like people noted on here the sizing changed too.
