Does anyone know how wide the 9.75 symmetrical egg is over the trucks?
[close]
9.375
yep, i just got mine and it measures 9.5 at the "wheelbase" holes, and 9.25 at the holes closer to the nose/tail.  9.375 in the middle.

I just ordered an EraserEgg board from the UK (I'm in the US) its listed as a 8.9" board, so I'm wondering if anyone can recommend which trucks would fit best for the Eraseregg?
Thanks in advance!!

I am currently riding the board with 149's, they are flush with the board edge. 159's would also work fine, but stick out a touch more.

Another skate shop email which looked interesting for people in this thread.

Not sure if it is more a local Australian thing, but I saw from OCD Skateshop, there were a few new egg shaped decks, some Blind boards that seemed about the same shapes as the older reissues of the FUBK series and a Jackson Pilz from Enjoi, the Early Bird.

Right on - thank you for the pics especially!! Its such a sick shape, I can't wait to set it up!!!!
So from what I understand,  Indy 149's work well, and if I stick with Thunder Trucks a 151 is a good fit.
Is this right?

Yep! For me it was perfect. Best curb set up ever. My friends would ask for goes cause it was so fun. Everything clicked.

I had the 151’s on the scrambled egg and that was a trip. Too hot rod but it was super easy to skate!!!

At least they have a variety of length and wheelbase options too, going from 14 to 14.5 so pretty much everyone is covered.

So just to verify again,  you're saying that 8.75" axles are the best size for the Eraseregg Heroin board right? Or should I go with 8.5"?
Fuck, i hate how different truck companies use different numbers for the same size trucks, makes it so confusing!

That is what I took from it, being the Eraser egg deck at 8.9" wide deck with 8.75" trucks works well.

That equates to 159 Indy, 151 Thunder or 6.1 Venture for the same 8.75" widths.

Anything in the 8.5" truck department would "magic carpet ride" and sit a long way under, unless you had some big wide wheels like Slimeballs.

In that case, it would be 149 Indy, 149 Thunder or 5.8 Venture.

It is just down to how you prefer your setup - personal preference is never overrated.

I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

Right on, thank you for not just saying "ride what you like" I ultimately will ride what feels good,  and I thought that's what he was saying in the last reply (that 151s are a goodfit),  but I started over thinking it and messed up my whole plan lol...
I will be keeping my eyes open for some 8.75" trucks and give them a try!  Of course once I get the board I can play around with the setup and fine tune it how I like, but this at least gives me somewhere to start!!
I'll post when I get it all put together,  cheers for the assist on the last post!!  ;)

All set up and ready to rock. Can't wait to try it out this weekend!
169s / 52 F4 OG

For those that might like to know, I measured each kick at 6.75". So kind of in between a nose & tail. Perfect for an egg shape. I've got a Grimple Gerwer egg and I end up skating it backwards a lot of the time because of the super small tail.

Man that looks great! Bummed they sold out before I could get one.

If you have some time could you measure the width over the trucks?  Wondering how much taper there is but those 169s seem to fit perfectly

I was wondering if those dimensions were correct, tail showing about 6.3 or so which is super small.

Guess that was correct, as per your comment.

Yeah, only 6.3 and the taper makes it feel even smaller. I should note, I’m talking about the Grimple egg from a year ago, it’s 8.75 wide. Looks like there’s a new wider one out now, 9.1.

I almost picked up a Vallani Primitive egg a couple months ago. But the tail just seemed too small.

The 8.7 Soft Boiled Egg and the 9.0 Symmetrical Egg are still available online. Actually much easier to find than any of the recent wider eggs.
