So I was at Tampa Am, can’t remember the year exactly, but it was right around the time PWHL came out. So maybe I thought less of Jeremy Rogers cause PJ was there absolutely destroying the course. Then I started wondering why would PJ be on Element and JR on Girl. Always thought PJ was the superior skater. But yeah, neither of them hardly missed a trick.

I'm pretty sure PJ was on Flip by the time Jereme got on Girl which was a team of pretty equal stature at the time.

He didn't voluntarily throw away his career, he was getting dropped from his sponsors for being a complete kook. Right before he "quit," he was naked on his roof screaming and being completely insane. The dude, likely, got dropped from Famous Stars and Straps, which is sad. How does one get kooked by the kookiest brand out?

And, as for not being harmless, his far-right Trump style insanity is scary. He is one step away from raiding the capitol or "investigating" what really goes on at PlanetPizza.

I don’t think he’s really a douche at heart, he’s just pathologically insecure with low self esteem so he overcompensates by acting like a douche. Plus I think he lives with an insane amount of regret which will literally drive you a little crazy; tons of people who fuck their lives up in some way embrace delusions and try to avoid reality in some way to avoid confronting the reality of their lives and the consequences of their decisions. People never get over certain stuff

The thrasher editorial page or whatever had somebody openly trashing him which I felt was harsh even at the time. He made a stupid decision but it was indicative of some genuine mental problems and I feel like the situation would have been treated a lot differently today.

gringo shaft is hilarious! he didn't get booted from the industry, he quit. the way he explained it, he was making the same as a Jeron for instance and he was moving more boards than Jeron so it wasn't fair to him. so instead of advocating for more of his royalties or going to another team, he retired from skating. it was a grandiose gesture and Thrasher's job is to keep us skating. if someone quits, they're not a lifer and Thrasher disavows them. it's why harmless rollerbladers are our enemy. anything that impedes the gnar. i hated the man but now i find him comical.
