I'm not saying it's true (or that anything in any version of the bible is true), but clarifying that TK is not alone in this belief.

On the Cherokee aspect, many indigenous tribes openly accepted escaped slaves into their groups. One of the problems with proving tribal membership today is that membership was never based on genetics or bloodline. By default, the descendants of existing members were considered members, but you could also be considered a full equal member simply by being accepted as a member. I'd say declaring a Cherokee ancestor is roughly equally common amongst caucasian and black people in the US.
