As a horror movie buff, he's obviously setting this up for the sequel. He's not really retiring, lighting will strike his corpse and re-animate him. Or kids on Elm St will have Tod Falcon nightmares. Or Halloween will fall on a weekend. He'll falcon stomp back onto the small screen in no time.
