double post, it makes me sad to see dustin at the end of his road, i remember grommet skating the hordern pavillion as a baby and thinking 'that is skateboarding' now hes a washed up old man (me too) and its sad. He will forever be a young little grommet in my eyes. Nothing fucks you harder than time.

Glad I got to see him actually make some bizarre and difficult tricks one last time at least.

since this is now officially the Dollin obituary thread, i remember seeing him skate in the late 90's on a vert ramp, he was a street skater but had insane transition skills for his age, I would still love to see retired old man dollin revisit his tranny phase, could watch his flick catch on ramps for hours. One of the best kept secrets in skateboarding, his pool tricks with Wedge were king in baker 3. Ima pour one out for DD tonight.

I once saw him skating at Nerang skatepark in like 2012 and he was apparently on acid, and I can confirm that his transition skating is nuts. He kept slamming on a huge hip and would roll onto the grass and talk to it after every slam. Then he pulled a huge front shove grab over it, and it was incredible to see.

Jake Duncombe was also wasted talking shit over a loudspeaker which was hilarious.

One of my favorite tricks in dollins B4 part is arguably the dumbest one, that ride on 50-50 to fakie bigspin into the bank was super fun for me to watch. Probably because it’s the only trick in the part I would maybe be able to do

Damn I think Dustin's part was my favorite. I didn't expect him to have any footage really and the fact that most of it was stuff I would be terrified to try even though I'm ten years younger than he is really surprised me. Did people really expect him to come through with mindblowing hammers like when he was 20 years old?

He had arguably gnarlier shit then Reynolds but no one's talking about how "sad" the Boss' part was. Neither were sad IMO. I think it's crazy inspiring that all the 40+ people in the video can still throw themselves down any stairs at all.

Are people surprised dollin's transition skills are nuts?

Have you not seen this man alley-oop kickflip to fakie?

how much footage and parts  has Dollin put out compared to the Boss during this span?  Not comparable. Drew has been skating non stop still.

I'm talking about the Baker 4 video dude. If anything your point makes it even more crazy that Dustin had as much footage as he did.

saying that dollin is washed up is absurd. he put the work in and put out a great part, and i think he's totally relevant. the part definitely has a sentimental vibe due to the alex cameron track. and ok the mob face and knee surgeries probably don't help. but still the footage speaks the loudest. whatever this guy's future output is i'm down for it.

I replayed Dustin's part more than the others, it's a hopeful/happy part. Makes me feel good about time moving forward, that it's not going to be so bad, and we'll still be able to have fun till the end.

Um did Dollin say he’s quitting skateboarding or something? Obviously he can’t go hard too much longer but he ain’t dead. And as I’ve said before, front heel into the bank was some psycho shit that should be just for kids, T Funk or somethin, but Dollin ain’t scared. Maybe liquid courage but still big balls.

Completely agree his part felt like a sendoff with the music but I don't think he's riding off into the the sunset yet. It's the one part in the vid that really ties the present to the past much more than Reynolds footage or the little snippets of former riders like Ellington or Elissa.

If it is a sendoff then IMO it's a great sendoff. If not, then that's awesome, more footage in the future. Either way that part definitely was the most emotionally resonating and put-you-in-the-mood-to-skate part of the video for me.

Isnt Dustin living in Paris, hanging out with models and fashion people and  going to dinner parties with Lenny Kravitz?

If he was washed up he'd be at Panthers Leagues slappin the pokies, spendin his newstart on a slab of hammer and tongs and making rollies out of old durries he scrounged off the ground.
Is it true?  Or did you read it on the slap message board?

I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed Dollin’s part. This felt like one of his best parts in a while; liked it more than the Propeller vid. Dude was out there still enjoying skating, landing stuff and looked like he still had his wedding band. Dude’s doing his thing. That’s awesome.

I'd like to take the opportunity to post this early Dollin part from Australian vid Play.

From around the same time as Baker 2g. Guess it must of been about 2000-01. Crazy to think it's close to 20 years ago

Man watching this gave me the most overwhelming nostalgia i've felt in a long time. It's kind of shaken me to be honest.

Two of my first videos as well, if any song from sight unseen comes on shuffle I get down, especially that Cali agents song Henry skated to

That first angle was part of what killed me about this video.  It just felt so amateurishly made.  I’m not expecting humorless and perfection seeking production values.  Just camera angles and editing that don’t swallow the tricks or the spots.  This isn’t the first attempt by anyone involved either.  Think of all those tricks were filmed at that Dolores 10 stair that were shot flat and seemingly from across the street.   Those Spitfire videos have shown it’s not a tough spot to get good angles on and the vid might not be receiving the mixed praise it’s getting if they just tightened that shit up.

There’s a clip of Andrew Reynolds ollieing a trash can on top of another trash can and I was stoked because he’s wearing an eagles hat and I’m like woah the boss is a birds fan. Then in the very next clip he has a ny giants hat on and I’m immediately bummed.

It doesn’t really matter both teams suck but it would be cool if the boss routed for the same shitty team you do.

blew that shit straight up, the 2nd angle does the trick justice at least

also not a fan of Billy's filming style, but honestly it's tricky to catch the foot at the right spot while panning/dezooming from the skater face, kind of a gambling game imo...who cares about a cutie face anyway, it's just a bunch of biological sensors sprinkled around a heap of flesh when you think of it

If Strobeck had actually filmed that first angle, it wouldn't have been as bad. Felix was clearly out of his depth.
