I don't know if I ever noticed before, but the only difference between the word "touches" and the word "douches" is one letter.
That letter is the letter "d".
My name starts with the letter "D".
I think you see where I'm going with this.

I initially read this as "nice touchés". I suppose there's a whole world of possibilities.

I like the noise of skating in bricks, kinda wish there was a brick plaza where I live, that would be perfect.

tricks where the skater looks like they won't land/ roll away from the trick but they miraculously pull it off anyway due to determination and/ or superior board control. re: not every trick has to be 100% perfect

Impish sausage is definitely gonna blow up as a euphemism this year

Reacting to the textures and characteristics of the ground beneath you. IMO, this is what makes Gino skating such a fricking treat.

Cases in point:

👇 Riding switch over the crack at 0:50-ish

👇 Discreetly manualing down the slight incline to the pyramid ledge

That shit's beautiful

When Chris Joslin takes off his shirt and flexes and yells "whooo!" Into the camera.

When Kyle Walker does that military salute.

When the dude lands something gnarly, pops a bottle of champagne and then interlocks his fingers with his homies fingers while his dad cries.

When figgy covers his face after landing a hammer.

- No push lines
- When people passing by get stoked and smile
- When tricks are not perfect, like jkjhnsn with that varial heel on Static 4. Loved it
- Lines with a regular heelflip in between
Sir, I'm going to politely, but firmly, ask you and your common sense to leave this establishment.

Crushed it with this one.  Also when same dude expertly undoes years of orthodontic work with a fatty to flatty before eating all subsequent food through a straw for the next month.

You don't get to see it a lot but when it pops up it's always cool

Someone on here had a gif in their sig of (i think) a nollie pop shuv down a drop and when he stomps it there's a huge dust cloud that looks a bomb just went off

Yeah that's Furby lol. That trick was so perfect I had to put it as my sig.

When you can feel how the person doing the tricks is feeling. (Mainly when you can see the determination in their eyes)
No push lines will always get me stoked.

On the opposite end of the emotional spectrum; I also enjoy seeing people genuinely having the time of their life. Going from staring intensely at the spot as they roll up to seeing the elation on their face as they roll away is a rarity unless you’re trying to see five minutes of bro hugs. (I’m all for hugging and telling my friends I love them, but no one needs to see five minutes of hugs and hi fives in a skate video.)
Also, I miss seeing “naturals” on the board. “Overrated” or not; I feel like having “naturals” in skating just adds to the mysticism and appeal of skating. Gets the gears in the brain churning with thoughts like “How the fuck did that look like he was asleep mid trick?”

Haha, you got me.  That was half to be annoying but half serious too.  I love how they look when someone does them really well and going fast.  Ishod’s bigspin off the curb at the end of a line in that last Nike part immediately came to mind.

I guess they are kinda played out though.

avoiding oblivious pedestrians mid-line

holding on to a trick for dear life, like when a drain or a paving crack tries to rob the roll away but dude makes it regardless.

just the right amount of sketch

It's fun to see hardware fall off someone's board but they keep moving regardless. I like to see a broken board roll-away as well, it's natural. I get the feeling certain pros wouldn't want that sort of footage included, like Felipe Gustavo for example.

Powerslides after landing a trick can be a nice visual treat. Best example I can think of is BA in Yeah Right after the smith grind, where he powerslides into the fence, board goes through the fence, he gets up and walks off all cool. That's almost better than the trick.

Unexpected slappies are nice - Aaron Loreth in 30 Away is a good example.

yeah right is full of nice touches

usage of a spot and an intricate path through it always get me stoked, like in dis marc line-

nicest touch of all

this has alot of the little things i love in one line- spontaneous wallies n flatground, speed with lots of little powerslides n checks, loose style thats slightly out of control, tail scrapes on manhole covers, nollies on cracks, filmers who go through great lengths to do good follow cam (phil litterally went down a double set with a camera in his hand and kept the shot steady). You can tell by phil's reaction of disbelief that there were completely unplanned tricks that ended up in the line and that spontaneity is really interesting to watch.
