I can't tell if this a joke or not due to these setups coming straight out of 2005
[close]

why would it be a joke, lmao. this dude has skated the same setup for 20 years because it works for him, if you don't have a trustworthy setup/size then you probably should skate more.

Set up a Powell-Peralta Flight Deck for parks/bowls when it warms up here. It's the 9.05/shape 246. Mainly got it for the 15.0 wheelbase and it's an always in stock shape with them so I can settle into a non-rotating setup. Consistency and availability is an issue with some of the shaped decks I've been riding. I'll probably step down to the the Chinese 7-ply shape 246 when this is done, depending on how it skates.

Other specs:
  • 60mm Bones 84b
  • Swiss w/spacers
  • Indy 169s, stock bushings
  • 1/4 Pigs risers
  • 1 - 1/4 shortys hardware
  • Sanded down Jessup

100% rad.
What's going on over at https://skate2junkies.proboards.com/ ???

Christmas complete, back at it after a looong break.

Me: 6,2", 200 pounds and old tired legs.

Deck: Anti-hero Raney Beres (dreamer shape) 8.375X32.25X14.5. (Love this shape from DLX.)

Bolts: Independent/Slayer collabo 1".

Trucks: Independent 149 forged hollow. (Best trucks in the market. Next time I'll get the ones with the titanium axle.)

Bushings: Bones hard 96D black. (Best bushings everrr, the feeling is unparalleled).

Wheels: Bones V2 Locks 52mm STF. (These really help with the lock ins on ledges)

Bearings: Bronson G2. (Best quality/price ratio).

Griptape: Jessup Ultragrip (really good griptape).

I recently had a roll on some really old Arto Saari Fury trucks. They were really small (below 8") but I liked the turn.

Skate the stuff you like (except for Braille and Cariuma).
[close]
A friend bought fury from decathlon 2 years ago and they felt good, the turn well, they grind and have mid height, the only down side is the ugly hanger (and that the brand is not hot, but fuck it, they cost only 35 euros and i wouldnt mind riding them if i am on a budget)

I also nostalgia-bought a pair of those Furys from Decathlon and was pleasantly surprised. Way better than the original ones I had in ’99.

Seeing those bigger set ups has me tempted to set up a board 8.6+.

Set up a sub 8 and I kept landing on the rails and my board would flip to my shins. Power to you sub 8 people.

Lol, I was really thinking about getting the tablets but the bones were on sale (considerably cheaper than SF), and, tbh, I'm not that into the yellowish color for my wheels, I guess I got stuck in the early 2000's.

I ran a very similar setup for quite a while…very sick. This AW/Habitat shape and the Polar P2 are probably all I need for the rest of my life.

Why would it be  a fucking joke? I skate what I want to skate and what's comfortable to me. Does everyone need to skate FA decks with 149 Indy's and formula 4s? I've been skating since 2002 and I found what works for me.  Jesus Christ.

How are the Oust bearings?
[close]

They're Oust-anding!

Seriously though, I would choose oust over og bones swiss (never had ceramics.) And over Bronson g3s both are fantastic but if I had the choice I'm riding oust 24/7. Try them and you are hooked. The problem is my local shop doesn't carry them, I try to always have an extra set from online these days.

Two trusty Krookeds. Suffering a bit of truck madness hence the two setups.

Krooked TX guest 8.06
Royal 139s
Loophole 52mm Powderly Teardrops
Sunday shieldless
7/8 allen Silverados
Mob

Christmas complete

Krooked Manderson 8.125 x 32 (love/miss that rare short 8.12 size, tho)
Royal 144s (half lights - hollow kingpin & solid axles)
Loophole 54mm Jameel square shape
Sunday shieldless
7/8 Shorty's allen lights
Miles
Globes Opinion made me depressed for years.

Ok

You, bravo.
Even the formatting looks like something off of an early 2000s forum that wasn’t slap.
And then suggesting that someone needs to ride 2014s hottest setup (fa and 149s)…you did not miss.

First time I've seen inter brand truck madness with such similar trucks. It would seem that the fact that your decks have different wheelbases, kick sizes, and wheel sizes would matter much more. IIRC that Tx has a 14.38 but shorter tail and nose than the 8.125/14.25 shape. Is that a new Manderson graphic? Never seen it before.

I'd compare it to an indy. Wanna say its about 53ish millimeters in height. On my last board, the wb was 14.1 & the ventures made it seem longer. With the ace baseplate, the wb got noticeably tighter

I was riding the AF1's and liked those. This combo feels slightly heavier. I like the pop, turns not as deep as aces but really well. I like where it sits when i do crooks. Feels right on top
