^ +1 but I hope you don’t skate in weather over 90, Jessup on my BA started peeling bad.
[close]
I skate Jessup in in 114° and it still stuck on my board. Bad sheet maybe???
He must have gotten a bad sheet.  I've been skating Jessup for the past 31 hot, humid North Carolina summers and it hasn't failed me yet.  Contact Jessup... I'm sure they'd replace it for you if it was defective.

Decided to try out a 7.75 again like what I skated throughout my highscool years.
Minilogo 7.63 trucks with soft top bushings, hard bottom bushings, no washers. 52mm mini logo wheels.
And wtf these mini logo bearings feel way better than my Swiss 6 on my regular board. I guess I really need to clean them to get them back up to speed again.

[close]

No disrespect intended, but this set up being ridden by anyone other than a beginner is mind boggling to me. Seems like you have new kicks all the time so it's clearly not a money issue - what's going on here?

Well I’ve been riding minilogo trucks for like 7 years and I genuinely love them. My last trucks before that were theeve and thunder and when I got my first set of ML trucks I was blown away at how much better that felt for me than all the other truck brands I’ve skated over the years.
As far as decks go, price point decks are fine imo, I set up a new one every 2 weeks or so though.
Wheels, I’m not super picky about, I like them to slide and the MLccuts slide great but when I very first set them up, they are too slick to where I might fall just cruising fast and taking a sharp turn but once they break in, they work perfectly fine for me.
Wheel colors I didn’t choose lol, I sometimes forget to specify that I’d prefer white wheels but I also really don’t mind the multicolor set of wheels.

Left, previous setup:
Krooked 8.75 Gonz
Ace 55s w/ bones soft bushings, slim top washer
DialTone Alexis Sablone 50mm
Swiss
Shortys Silverados 7/8

Right, new setup:
DOA 8.75 “flat as fuck” (though it really doesn’t feel any different than the “IV” stamped deluxe boards)
Boardy Cakes 44mm fat buntz
Everything else the same

[close]

How are the 44s vs the 50s?
The Boardy Cakes are 103a and the DialTones were 99a, so I think the extra hardness helps them feel just about as fast, but I definitely lose speed a lot quicker when approaching the ledge etc after I stop pushing.  I think I might ride them for only a few more sessions.

I guess you like 8.75” what’s the wheel base on both these ? I’ve been wanting to size up from 8.5 but most 8.75 have a little longer wb then I prefer but then again it’s prob in my head .
Wheelbase on the Krooked was 14.62, not sure what it is on the DOA but it feels about the same.  It's pretty much the identical shape as well, when I stacked the two on top of each other.   I'm a tall dude so I prefer the longer wheelbase.

Got given this board a while back, finally set it up and had 2 sessions on it
(shitty image, will resize)

PS Stix 8.5 (same shape as FA/WKND etc)
Ace 44s
F4 classics 54mm
1/8 inch risers
Swiss 6 balls
Riley 2s (though I still prefer my eS swifts)

I can see why this shape gets a lot of love, it’s short and stubby but it’s quite intuitive to ride. Certainly doesn’t feel like you’re on a 8.5. Had most of my tricks down on it during the first session, whereas Chico’s board took me a while to get used to. And that fucking nose! So good for nollie tricks and locking in on noseslides 8)

i think thunders might not feel as bad undersized as indies

Nice, I'm skating the J Lee one right now.  So little concave and kick on the nose that it's nearly impossible to do some tricks, but it's fun for slappies.  Hopefully I get used to it.  How you liking it so far?

i love the shape of those decks but i just can't skate anything without a full nose

i've gone back and looked at some of my slow mo footage and my front foot is so far up on the edge of my nose pretty much every trick i pop i know i would step over the nose constantly on something like that

I used to loved skating my schmitt stix ripsaw modern concave which had like a 3.5" micro nose and I have no idea how i made it work. I guess you get used to anything if it's all you're skating

Any insights on the Riley 2s? They look like beefier supra cubans which I enjoyed skating aside from the poor durability.

I had some but the lining on the inside blew out before I had a chance to even skate them. Elastic didn't stay tight either.

I don't have any tricks anyway, so it's pretty fun. Skate mostly at the park and some curbs here and there.  Tail is pretty short and flat, but I kind of like the flattish concave. Not bad.

I had some but the lining on the inside blew out before I had a chance to even skate them. Elastic didn't stay tight either.
I reviewed them a while back in the vegan shoe thread, these ones are synth so they might be a tad more durable in suede?
copy/paste review from said thread:

Size: tts. or at least tts for what I wear in vans/ sole tech

Support: not bad for a slip on Vulc, they felt a little shallow at first but I was coming from cup soles and I think I needed the insoles to squish out a bit? The addition of the two laces holes means you can lace them tighter if they start to bag out. no heel slip and they feel nice and secure on your feet!

Break in time: non-existent, the last pair of vulcs I had were States and they felt like they needed to be broken in. Ben Degros recently reviewed some lakai vulcs and I agree with him: you can pretty much just put them on and skate them straight out of the box.

Grip/ Boardfeel: I love gum colored rubber, it feels more grippy to me? board feel is on par with any other vulc, I like how they have harder rubber around the ball of your foot and heel sections too which makes the sole feel more sturdy.

Durabilty: better than canvas, but I'm already seeing wear & tear after 2 sessions and I'm not that hard on my shoes (my eS from a few pages back still look brand new!)

Pros: non-canvas slip on with lace loops that don't have any break in time, but do have lots of grip and board feel

Cons: I think you'd burn through them if you're harsh on shoes. I'd also love to see them in a mid.

In summary: Glad lakai is offering vegan options, would like to see these options trickle through to their cup sole range too though

Bummer, I had the heels (the the suede around the heel, not the sole) on some other lakais blow out before I even got a kickflip mark but I wasn't sure if it was just my pair. Thanks for letting me know man.
