Got given this board a while back, finally set it up and had 2 sessions on it
(shitty image, will resize)
PS Stix 8.5 (same shape as FA/WKND etc)
Ace 44s
F4 classics 54mm (I usually change wheels every time I change a board but you don't really need to with f4s so I took these straight off the chocolate)
1/8 inch risers
Swiss 6 balls
Riley 2s (though I still prefer my eS swifts)
I can see why this shape gets a lot of love, it’s short and stubby but it’s quite intuitive to ride. Certainly doesn’t feel like you’re on a 8.5. Had most of my tricks down on it during the first session, whereas Chico’s board took me a while to get used to. And that fucking nose! So good for nollie tricks and locking in on noseslides

Any insights on the Riley 2s? They look like beefier supra cubans which I enjoyed skating aside from the poor durability.
I had some but the lining on the inside blew out before I had a chance to even skate them. Elastic didn't stay tight either.
I reviewed them a while back in the vegan shoe thread, these ones are synth so they might be a tad more durable in suede?
copy/paste review from said thread:
Size: tts. or at least tts for what I wear in vans/ sole tech
Support: not bad for a slip on Vulc, they felt a little shallow at first but I was coming from cup soles and I think I needed the insoles to squish out a bit? The addition of the two laces holes means you can lace them tighter if they start to bag out. no heel slip and they feel nice and secure on your feet!
Break in time: non-existent, the last pair of vulcs I had were States and they felt like they needed to be broken in. Ben Degros recently reviewed some lakai vulcs and I agree with him: you can pretty much just put them on and skate them straight out of the box.
Grip/ Boardfeel: I love gum colored rubber, it feels more grippy to me? board feel is on par with any other vulc, I like how they have harder rubber around the ball of your foot and heel sections too which makes the sole feel more sturdy.
Durabilty: better than canvas, but I'm already seeing wear & tear after 2 sessions and I'm not that hard on my shoes (my eS from a few pages back still look brand new!)
Pros: non-canvas slip on with lace loops that don't have any break in time, but do have lots of grip and board feel
Cons: I think you'd burn through them if you're harsh on shoes. I'd also love to see them in a mid.
In summary: Glad lakai is offering vegan options, would like to see these options trickle through to their cup sole range too though
