Cross-posted from the egg thread:
Ordered this Toy Machine egg a while ago but never set it up.  Had some extra trucks and wheels laying around so decided to give it a go. It's more football than an egg, and the camera angle has distorted it a bit to make the tail look much bigger, but in reality the nose and tail are very similar.  The nose is a bit pointier than the Heroin egg which is the last one of these type setups I did.  Top graphic indicates that it was made and screened in USA, but not sure which woodshop.  It doesn't have the same look or feel as the old Watson toy machines.

Toy Machine 9.18x32.25
Thunder 151 team hollows
mini-logo C-cut 101A 50mm
Mix of Indy and Reds bearings
Jessup
I really like the deck, but going from Ace 55s down to Thunder 151s took some getting used to on ledge/curb tricks.  I like how light the hollow thunders are, but still much prefer the turn and feel of the Aces.  This will remain a setup for when I just feel like dicking around.
[close]

Looks like fun for reals.
Stupid question here: difference between football and egg? Football pointier?

Actually love that set up

Footballs have pointier kicks

Guys, let's not do this. They're generally the same thing, a 1992-ish shape with a wide middle and tapered kicks. Thom, OK, you guys are a couple of my favorite posters, so I am warning you with PEACE AND LOVE: do not encourage this kind of absurd madness.

Ordered this deck from cowtown for my birthday. It’s hard for me to find a primitive graphic I actually like .

8.1 primitive
Venture 5.6 Hi with riptides and supercush bushings
53mm f4 tablets 99a
Swiss six

Got a nice rolled ankle today so guess it’s going to be a little before I get another session on it
.

Almost the same as me :D 8.125 Primitive, 5.6 Ventures, F4 50mm Tablets, Bronson Bearings. The setup is the best! I'm glad I went back to Ventures after a long time, I felt like I took a big chance but wow when you get used to them they are perfect. Coming from at ultra-loose skater before I had a big break in skateboarding </3
Skateboarding an addiction stronger than Heroin.

Ok

I’m going to agree with this take FI, I just always used them as the same term, thought I might have been doing it wrong.
I hadn’t seen the term ‘egg shape’ until heroin’s eggs. Which seem to be fatter.
Really trying to resist the polar football: length and width fit, the wb isn’t my fave buuuuuut maaaaybe b’cuz ACE blah blah. And I was also trying to spread it around a little more. I haven’t skated that many Polars, but they don’t need the business, I have bought too many FA’s etc. I’m always bummed when a small company that was ‘soooo sick’ goes out of business and am reminded that I didn’t buy any of their shit.
But that goddamn football shape looks like tre flip shenanigans

How do you like the shape?  I’ve got one I haven’t set up yet and unless I’m crazy, it’s got a slight egg-shape to it with the tail being a little wider than the nose.
Tail definitely seems wider but shorter than the nose. Kind of wish I had a different color bolt as it takes a second look to notice which side is which from the top. I like it otherwise. Everything feels pretty natural so far.

I skated a proto about a month or two ago.  What’s the question?

How much room is on the tail? I have a deathwish 8.5 32' 14.5 wb' I don't know the specs of the tail and nose but they feel tiny when I drop in, I feel like my foot has barely any room.

As for my attitude. Yes I am sorry. I don't mean to be so upset. I am in the wrong here.

Tail measures ~6.5" x 8" (widest point) on the 8.25"

If you've skated an FA/Hockey deck before, you aren't missing much. Proto One/Two has the same shape as FA/Hockey decks.

One really nice thing about skating in cons, particularly with a heavier setup (and I’m guessing the 55s not light), is the toe cap helped me fling shit around.

Heard they were on the narrow side and people recommend to get a half size up.

Ive seen quite a few people ride Keyframes on their "regular" setups, are you guys able to powerslide on them? I'm really curious, I have them for filming and its hella hard and would not be able to do so on a steep hill or something

The Legacy Slims were true to size for me and I have somewhat wide feet. They do have a snug sock-type feel which is really good but is not super invasive (like in the Vans Ultrarange Pro for example)
Get them if you can those shoes are gold

Funny enough it feels really light and nimble compared to the 9' Creature I've been riding!

It's really fun. Think I'd prefer the "Big Egg" variant though, so that's next on the list.

Dope, thanks!
Just saw these weren't the Slims but the Vac version so they seem to be a bit different.
These might actually run a bit wider. Anyways, I'll give them a try.
Saw them in an insta clip and they looked sick, didn't know what shoes they were at the time.

To me they fit great tbh! I haven't noticed them being narrow at all, but I have a pretty standard foot. They feel great on foot and look awesome imo. I was skating Kalis S before the vans, and they were amazing.
