What’s the nose and tail length on this shape? I’m looking for a slightly wider version of dlx’s 8.25 and this looks like it might be it. Congrats on hitting axle btw!

Nose 6.75”
Tail 6.5”
Quite pointy compared to the other 8.5 shape (14.25wb). Not liking it so much in the streets but slappies and transition feels great which is all I need anyways.

Also note this isn’t a Grimple just an AH and I just smoked too much that night

Gonna be storming for a couple days but I'll def check in to let you guys know. According to Ben, these are the specs for the 8.38 (other sizes on his ig as well).

Hopefully with the quasi 14.25 wb on aces and this blank 14.38 on ventures I can finally see if I prefer a shorter or longer wheelbase.

It's all good. I guess the difference in ACE and Venture wheelbase push will help me figure it out. I've had good sessions on each truck but having similar wheelbases of the decks with different trucks will be interesting.

I recently figured out that 8.25's are too skinny for me.  Liking my WKND 8.5, but is there any way you could take a pic of the top?  Trying to see if FA's 8.38's are as square as their 8.25 and 8.5's.

as someone who has rode both their 8.0 and 8.5 shapes, it feels just as square to me. it gets more square after losing wood on the tail and nose

There (8.25 x 31.875) / woodshop is bbs
Ace 44's - [I highly prefer uncolored trucks but these were the last 44's left at the shop]
53mm Spitfire F4 101a
Bones Reds
Mob

Im generally not a fan of colored trucks but the black Aces look great with that graphic.

Also if this is your first set of Aces I hope you love them. Been really appreciative of mine lately.

Appreciate the compliment, I'm starting to come around to it too truth be told. I was thinking of taking a page out of arrbee's playbook in the Ace thread by removing the paint with citristrip. The black on white does fit well though, kinda got lucky there.

And yep, first Aces I have ever ridden. So far they are really great and my slappy's and manuals feel really proper. People were not kidding when they said that it would take a lot less time to break them in than Indy's.

Regular old paint stripper. I let mine sit in it for 15/20 mins and just hosed them off. They come up looking nicer than if you had bought regular raw ones

I made a thread about fixer. I really want that elephant 9.25 but I am worried about money.

Decided to get a krooked pricepoint cuz I'm broke and my job is giving me less than 20 hours of work a week.

Yes, thank you! Top of the board is arguably more important than the bottom. ESP. If your trying to feel out a shape via the internet. I want to know what I’m going to be looking down at while I’m skating.

Glad to hear the support! The concave is mellow and almost into the medium range. The tail isn't steep and the is almost symmetrical to the nose. I'd most compare it to those classic Anti Hero shapes with a more mellow concave.  Unfortunately though these sold out within a few days on their web store so finding one is going to be a challenge. I'm sure they will stock up again soon to meet demand.

Actually knew James when I was younger so this is a need to buy. They have some online at the local, so gotta pick one up soon.
