My two setups I swap between. Super stoked on how both setups feel.

Transition
Polar Oski 1991 Junior (Redrilled to 14.75 wb)
Ace AF1 66s (Kreper Kingpin, Soft Bones bushing top, stock bottom bushing)
Bones 58mm 84b SPFs
Bronson G3s
Bones 1/8th inch riser
Solo Lil Jawns rail

Everything else
Polar Dane1 Nick Boserio
Ace AF1 66s (Kreper Kingpin, Soft Bones bushing top, stock bottom bushing)
Bones 56mm 99a V6s (Rollersurfer)
Bronson G3s
Bones 1/8th inch riser
Homemade UHMW rails
[close]

Is that a 1991 jr or sr? I just ordered the same deck which is meant to be 8.625. AF1 66 would be too wide.

It's a Junior. It's definitely "hot-rodded" haha, but I use that board to skate bigger pool-style bowls and for me personally, I think having the 9inch truck is fine. Lots of truck to hit for carve grinds etc.

I’ve always wondered how safe that is lol? Like I have a baggie full of extra hardware where a couple from the set were stripped. I’ve rocked 3 bolts on each side many times but how is doing 2 on each side?

AF1 55 are 8.5 wide, so the wheels sit fairly well inside the deck width.  Ace 55 classics at 9" wide would stick out a mile though, just in case that was what you might have been thinking.

Back to 8.5" trucks, considering before 144s / 8.25" size trucks came out, many people rode 149s / 8.5" trucks on 8.25 size decks easily enough, especially with thinner wheels as per this setup.

I think now with more truck width options, people can get a lot closer to matching everything up more easily, but there will also be those people who always ride wider trucks, in the same way there will those who always ride more narrow trucks to deck size.

What wood is "There" skateboards using?

Never mind.

They said it is BBS.  Found it from an older instagram post.

Hoping that is still the case.

Ha yeah.

I have seen a board like that though.  The guy was adamant that his 169s would work perfectly on the 8.5" board he bought (purely for the graphic) but we could see the setup was a mess and tried to help him, but that is what he wanted.  I even offered to give him some new 149s to fit on it nicely, instead of the old 169s he was riding, but he wouldn't have it.

Even his mate who was there with him was shaking his head and laughing at him, but hey, that is ok.

We can only do so much.

Coming off a long and repeating injury (torn Achilles, apparently it never really heels (pun not intended))

Very frustrating not getting to skate anywhere near as much as I’d like but I treated myself to some nice big 58mm spitfires to see what the fuss is about, looking forward to going out for a push :)

Those wheels make the deck look super tiny (or maybe it's because of the camera angle?), I love it  ;D

Hockey 8.5 Barnett #2 shape (as per FA website)
Venture 6.1
Spitfire classic 55mm

For those who wonder about the 8.5 #2 shape, it's nothing like the 8.44 #2 shape which is tapered but still have steep kicks like most other Hockey boards. This board has the exact same shape and steepness as the 8.5 blue Anti Hero eagle board. I know this because I have that board too. So it's basically a DLX (AH, Krooked etc.) 8.5 with the 14.25 WB.

Old:
The Killing Floor 8.38, snapped the tail on a switch ollie on flat somehow

New:
Grimple 8.25 w/ 14.38WB although it looks different it is basically identical to the TKF
Indy 149 Ti Forged Hollow that I just found out were Ti. Blue aftermarket bushings, which feel softer than the 90A aftermarket
Bronze 1" Allen that is still black after like 6 setups.
52mm Classics now 51
Swiss Six

It's for my side hustle. I make rock climbing holds out of hardwood. If you DM me ur address I can toss a few in an envelope when my new shipment comes in. The designer has done work for Thrasher, Maxallure, K2, etc.
