- Habitat Imaginary Beings II Fred Gall, 8 x 31.625 x 14
- Indy hollow forged 139s
- Santa Cruz Slimeballs 97a 53mm
- Bones risers 1/8
- Riptide pivot cups
- Random bearings
- Jessup grip I believe

Snow is finally gone (for six months anyway), so time for a fresh deck. In the past, I've had good luck with a Habitat board bearing the same dimensions, so hopefully this one works out. Concave is pretty mellow but not flat, same with the kicks. Nose is a bit more squarish and larger, which is good for me b/c I want to work on noseslides. Love the graphic as well; I have the same board in my collection.

I set the Indys up in April on a different board and they feel great so far, no complaints. I haven't had Indys in years but based on the lightness of these hollows combined with their look and grind made me interested. The stock bushings are doing what they should.

Wheels are great too - I wanted a 97a white wheel and these fit the bill.

Hopefully for my next setup I've got some Bones swiss. Also contemplating buying some 101a Loopholes, spoiling myself.

Skate it but also email FA they’ll probably give you a free one since that’s a defect.

After seeing Tyshawn quit FA, had to scoop up one last snickers graphic. Set it up on stuff I wasn’t using and it feels so good. Probably gonna be my new main setup. Forgot how good the FA shapes skate. Also grabbed the ace hard bushings but haven’t thrown them in yet.

Carlisle 8" OG Concave
Indy 139 Hollow
51mm F4's
Swiss
Mob

Ran it back again on this shape/concave. Pretty flat but fun and much better w/ these Indy's. Just enough lighter, but not too light.

•Sci-Fi Fantasy - 8.5X32x14.5WB
•Jessup Ultra
•Venture 5.8 standard - Krux Top/
Loose Conversion Bottom Barrel Bushing/3 washers in through all axels
•Spitfire F4 Classics- Ishod Black 55MM
•Modus 7S
•WKND Allen 1”

After coming off an 8.38 Eagle, this board picks up on the stability but the slightly steep nose makes it even better.

Thanks man! The front truck is kinda lacking on one side, but I'm terrible at any BS grinds. The back truck doesn't have that as I hit those spots doing front feeble/smiths. Lately I've been getting over my fear of ollieing backside into anything so I can get even more coverage on my trucks.

forgot to take a photo of it when it was brand new, 30 minutes prior to setting this board up i set up an alien joey obrien deck that i did take a photo of and snapped it on a flatground tre flip, i was pissed

theories 8.25 x 32 wb 14.25 (nice shape, bbs wood, i just hope it doesn’t fucking break like the aws did, it was also bbs)
standard 5.8 ventures (stock bushings, flat top washer)
spitfire f4 og classic 58mm 99a (i’m going to switch to 55mm classics when i get my next board, the shape is good but i think i like rounder, skinnier wheels more)
cortina c-class bearings, 6 diamond bolts (literally the worst hardware i’ve ever had, every time i switched the deck at least one nut stripped), jessup grip

as for the shoes i’m jumping back and forth between shell toes and skate half cabs, the halfcabs are great but i’ve been skating strictly shell toes for 2 years and i feel like i skate better in them :(

How is it more stable when they have the same WB? My Alltimers 8.5, which is the same shape, felt anything but given how much steeper the nose was.

From skating pretty much only the BBS / DLX 8.38 and other BBS 8.5 normal shape, both with 14.5 wb, I would say that there is definitely a difference, the 8.38 being more nimble and easier to throw around, with the 8.5 being more all rounded and stable, just in the feel of them, even though there is not a whole lot between them.  I have a few of each always on the go, so I can understand coming from an 8.38 and now on the 8.5 how that would be.

With regard to the concave or angle of the kicks, I have to be on a board with more mellow kicks, otherwise everything feels off, so I can also understand if you have a board that is too steep, or too mellow or flat, it really affects how things go.

I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

After a couple month vacation on a spare skinny setup due to a snapped kingpin, i'm back on an 8.25 now i've got some new trucks sorted.

Have to say, i'm enjoying it...twin tail seems to pair off well with thunder lights. Got some old Bones STF 50mm on it at the moment, need to sort another set of F4s at some point.

Thought i'd struggle a bit to get back on a wider board, but my kickflips on this actually felt better from the off, bit of a slower and more roomy flick and more floaty rather than the quick whip of a little board.

Chocolate CRob 8.25 TT
Thunder lights 148
