I like the other shape more. This one is almost half an inch shorter and the wheelbase is a third of an inch shorter. I thought it would be good for flip tricks. My positioning is all off which has been frustrating. No noticeable difference for ledge skating though so there’s that at least
[close]

All I do these days is attempt flip tricks. My best years were riding the small setups that were popular at that time. I’ve gone so far as to make a thread about 14” wb…being the turncoat that I am, I now have a difficult time adjusting to 14.25” wb, and feel very comfortable on 14.43”, 14.5”, and even a board that has a 14.75” wb. All on thunders. Goldilocks (balding) over here has a hard time with porridge over 32” long, but also boards can be too short blaaaah diddy blah. The longer the board the easier the kickflip tho.
Aaaanyways, sorry that one isn’t hitting as hard.
I keep trying combinations of whatever because trying different stuff is fun. I can already tell I’m headed towards a vx eventually. Your last review had me too hyped

Might be time to start a long wheelbase thread. I'm 6'2" and I find it much more comfortable to skate on a longer deck, which translates to longer wheelbase. My newest deck is 8.75x32.95x15 and it's one of my favorite shapes I've ever skated. Lifted Tater has also mentioned he likes long decks and 14.75" wheelbase too.

Tell the No Comply crew to bring us in the shop!  We’d love to be in there.

(trying to get into more shops so I can quit the day gig.)  ;D

for what its worth i got quantums a few months back from my local, and when i went back in to buy some shit recently i grabbed another set to put on ice.  keep it up, these bearings are sick

[close]

You didn't ask me, but I just came off a G052 and I really strongly disliked it, even though I actually really love some other Crail shapes. It's incredibly narrow for an 8.25", with Indy 144s protruding from the side. Maybe this problem is unique to my particular deck, but it had an unpleasant stiffness in the board that gave it both a dead feeling yet somehow still caused a lot of fatigue. The shape of the nose and tail didn't bother me one bit when skating, but I will admit it always felt "wrong" when I looked at it. I had been excited to try the geometry and I really wanted to like it, but for the first time in my life, I took the board apart after a few sessions, when the deck was still basically new, and stuffed it away because I was so deeply uncomfortable on the G052.

Sorry to rain on anyone's parade, and obviously lots of other people enjoy it, but those were my thoughts WRT to it.
[close]

See I thought the shape was perfect minus the ultra short WB.

Agreed. I really liked that shape. If it were drilled to a 14.25 wheelbase, it would be perfect.

Are their 8.75s 14” WB too? I like Pennswood made decks I’ve ridden but I don’t know if I’ve seen any size blank on their own site that wasn’t 14” WB and I’m way too oafish for that.

Got back from the business trip from hell, and grabbed some shop boards as retail therapy. I refuse to believe they were not thinking about me when they made a WBSWB football with wheel wells, but maybe some knowledge is too treacherous...

Arrow and Beast football 8.75" x 31.62" x 14.25"
Ace 55 classics
60mm kader lmao wheeeeeed radial fulls
quantum isotopes
bronze 1" phillips
Damn, throw some 53> on there and you got me ready to marry a bi—-, I mean board. Shit is gorgeous.

EDIT:Gawdammit europals, I was literally about to buy this until I realized it was euro and haven’t ordered across the pond before so I’m assuming (my bad) shipping is dumb expensive and would take forever or I get hosed somehow due to my shit luck.
This deck legit looks perfect tho, enjoy it for me; I wouldn’t do it justice anyway…

Yeah I had the 8.75 and it was 14”. I thought it would be too small but it felt fine. The wood is fucking good. I got an AH on ice but I’ll be swooping another up at some time.

Also @TwisT that graphic is awesome.

venture forged light 5.25 high
spit f4 53mm

7/8” allen shake junt bolts.

I can’t stress this enough, this is probably the best shape I’ve ever ridden in 22 years of skateboarding. it’s not quite twin tail symmetrical like an ishod real, but it’s damn near close, the nose is JUST long enough, the tail is bigger than most boards. it really is

fun to skate.

Skateboarding is nothing but a game to find the right fits to appear like you're a proportional human being instead of a midget or a giant.

Also found out I enjoy some magic carpet. 8.75 on thunder 149s. Kickflips feel good. Even if I don’t get a good pop they’ll do a barrel roll and whatever. But magic carpet definitely helps me with flicking.
