Weird question, but does Magenta not due a true 8.38 just that weird 8.4 shape?

yep, some years ago they labeled them 8.4 (really similar to the AH's 8.4 i've had through the years) but what they're branding rn as 8.38 is definitely still in the 8.4 range but different shape than the DLX decks i've had in the past few years (either that or i had a misslabeled 8.38 magenta last time i got one).

Still great wood and i'm stoked to support euro companies with the right ethos (all their clothes are made in Europe as well)

Forgot to take a picture before I started the process of destroying this fine deck…

Quasi egg
Maglight 8.50”
55 mm F4 Classics
Swiss
Not Mob? (Had to throw a piece of generic grip on there cause I messed up my Mob cutting it with a dull razor blade. Tragic.)

I put some Riptides and flat top washers on the Tensors and they are more surfy.  I also think they ended up just looser in general.
[close]

Two sets of Tensor mags in the last few setups... my madness has been so curious about these for some time now. As a heavier skater, I've heard all sorts of mixed reviews about how these do.

May have to bite the bullet and see for myself.
[close]

There are 3 sets of Tensor ATGs in my previous setup pic. They're the hangers in the box (top left) and they all have bent axles. They skate like a dream, but yeah. Good luck!  :)

This is my first set.  Definitely grind as advertised.  Turning is also completely sufficient.  I fully expect to bend them since I do a lot of slappies and have been doing more slappy crooks specifically as of late.  We shall see.

Worth checking out though for sure.  If an 8.75” comes out I might get another set for when my 159s are axled.

chocolate g30 shape (8.375 x 32)
thunder 148s
spitfire f4 54mm 99a
quantum science metallics

after skating 8.25 for 3-4 years i got a 8.375 x 32 deck (g30 crailtap shape) when i was gripping it i noticed it lacked concave compared to the deluxe boards I was skating mostly the last few years. was a bit hesitant skating it but it worked very well. I think im gonna stick to this size

Also i was gonna see how the 148s felt and they work just fine. I noticed my  kick and feel flips are easier to do. I also read and some other PALS have pointed on here how some pro's skate wide board with narrow trucks for this reason? anyways this set up works really well. loving the metallic bearings after having two bad exp with bones reds

Left my board at the shop cause it was raining, came back today to pick it up and it was super warped. My fault for leaving it in a closet that traps a lot of heat. That meant new deck time :v

Black Label John Lucero "STREET THING" Full White Dip 9.88" x 32.25" 14.5"- 15" adjustable wheelbase
Independent x Toy Machine 159 Standards with stock bushings
NFG MFG 52D 60mm (marked as 60mm but they actually measure ~58mm)
Bones Super Reds Ceramics
Bones 1/8" riser pads
Independent x Slayer 1" hardware
Jessup Ultra

Second Street Thing deck this year. I rode the previous one with 169s and 161s, and 159s feel way better with this board so far. Back truck looks crooked because I'm still breaking in the bushings.

yeah pressed by stix, dims are 8.5, 32.125, 14.25. Nose 7.125 and Tail: 6.75". Only skated one Hockey board in the past, feels a little bit mellower. Same big nose but atleast to me the tail seems a bit more squared off/stubby compared to everything else i've skated this year. Need to have a proper session on it but just from an hour or two yesterday it feels pretty good.

That looks like a hella fun time. 169s with 46mm wheels is pretty wild to me, but if it works for you. :)
I once had 159s with 50mm wheels and had to laugh everytime I looked at it ^^

Thanks for the top pic. The tail does look fuller than usual on a ps stix (in my eyes anyway). Very nice!

I hurt my knee within a few tricks setting up the WKND. I was having a weirdly off day yesterday so I assumed it was because I hadn’t skated in a week. Turns out my board had warped most likely because I had left it in my trunk. I’ve only ever had two boards warp on me in almost 25 years of skating and they’ve both been this year

Just curious about the size on the Casper and how you like skating Thunders with Bakers?

It’s an 8.25. I like that it has a pointy nose and tail. I’m not a fan of squared shapes for my normal setup. I only like skating Thunders. They work best for me and how I like to skate. I’ve tried my friends boards that had Indy’s or Ventures and neither feel “right”

917 8.38 x 32 x 14.25
venture standard 5.8, element bushings
spitfire f4 og classics 58mm worn down to 51s
many different bearings
pig prime allen bolts
mob grip
vans skate sk8 lows

the element bushings obviously blew out - i had a flat top washer on there before and it dug into the bushing. i switched to regular top washers and they’re keeping the bushings together, still work fine and turn great.
