I hurt my knee within a few tricks setting up the WKND. I was having a weirdly off day yesterday so I assumed it was because I hadn’t skated in a week. Turns out my board had warped most likely because I had left it in my trunk. I’ve only ever had two boards warp on me in almost 25 years of skating and they’ve both been this year

Just curious about the size on the Casper and how you like skating Thunders with Bakers?

It’s an 8.25. I like that it has a pointy nose and tail. I’m not a fan of squared shapes for my normal setup. I only like skating Thunders. They work best for me and how I like to skate. I’ve tried my friends boards that had Indy’s or Ventures and neither feel “right”

917 8.38 x 32 x 14.25
venture standard 5.8, element bushings
spitfire f4 og classics 58mm worn down to 51s
many different bearings
pig prime allen bolts
mob grip
vans skate sk8 lows

the element bushings obviously blew out - i had a flat top washer on there before and it dug into the bushing. i switched to regular top washers and they’re keeping the bushings together, still work fine and turn great.

Happily worn down 50mm Classics I think.

There have been some 48mm Classics getting around in the budget lines too, so that is closer to the early 90s BPSW era.

Not sure how many or where they are in stock though.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

Probably not the correct place for this question but cant find answers doing a search. Does anyone know which spraypaint works best / still slides on decks with graphics you arent really feeling? Also is there any that work without sanding? Just wondering if anyone has had experiences with this. Based in the UK so if it’s something that readily available here would be a bonus

Any gloss should slide better than matt finish.

Don't apply too thickly either.

As much as I am not really a heavy wax user nowdays, most people I know just wax anything that isn't sliding to their satisfaction, mainly the deck itself more so than any given obstacle, which will make any painted board slide no matter what is on it.  Just don't go too crazy with it, but it definitely goes from sticky to ultra slick in most cases.

Here's my newest setup. The square tail and shorter nose took a bit of getting used to, but this thing really charges and now I love it. I've been riding a longer wheelbase lately but enjoying the responsiveness of this sub-15" wheelbase.

Speedlab Wheels 9th Street DIY 59mm/101a green and white swirl

Black Ace Trucks Classic 55 with stock bushings

Mounting hardware pulled from the junk drawer

Cheers!

Lol. Eldee is definitely a human. He’s like a raider on horse back who’s kinda scared to do battle. Somehow he closes his eyes and swings his sword wildly and wakes up in a pile of dead orcs.

You want water based/acrylic spray paint. It'll dry quick and won't smell strong either. Most people make the mistake of using oil based paint which takes ages to dry/harden and is sticky as fuck.
Give the deck a wipe down with a cleaner to remove any grease/dirt from your hands etc then give it a very light sand to key the surface. Then a quick dust off before spraying.
