Board looks sick, that concave ideal.
Does look a little reminiscent of almost a freestyle board or something in that last pic.
7.75 w/ 5.0 lo’s is always a good time.

8.5 / 159 / 56mm has been my most consistent setup but I just bought an 8.75 Quasi to try a bigger board. L : 32.625 WB : 14.5. Should I stick with 159 or 169? I can do more on transition but I like skating ledges and flat too. I’m afraid that 169 will be too heavy but I do like the stability 159 brought to the 8.5 and wonder if 169 will do the same for 8.75

The 159 is perfect on the 8.75 but prob you won’t have the wheels as flush to the rail. 159 I believe suppose to be the 8.75range

Skate Warehouse 8.5 - Clutch O shape
Indy 149 Ti. Blue aftermarket top, stock bottom
Bones X-97 54 V5
Quantum Atoms
Jessup
Indy 7/8 Phillips

Second time on Clutch wood.  Last time I really liked the performance for the short time it lived. I didn’t feel like paying $60 for Clutch so I paid $20 (bought another deck at the same time and SW discounts theirs when you do).  Last was a K shape which was more typical popsicle, but I wanted to try O shape.  All came with bad graphics, so a light sand and some board slides took care of that.

X-97 are a good balance between Dragons and a normal wheel.  Almost as good as a Dragon on crust, but feel more normal elsewhere. I am surprised these aren’t getting the hype Dragons did.

The quasi 8.75 is pretty tapered and slightly eggish, so 159. I’ve ridden one with thunder 151s and there is just a tiny bit of wheel showing.  8.5 trucks would be a good fit imo. Really good shape.

What trucks to you suggest would pair well with a very flat and mellow kicks board?

for me it will depend on the length of the wheelbase

This setup has finally cured my madness after almost year and two months!

Krooked Team Eyes 8.38x32.25 14.5WB
Ace AF1 Hollows 55s
Ace 1/8” plastic risers
Spitfire Formula Four 56mm conical full (around 54ish now)
Modus Titanium bearings, no shields
Ace 1” hardware

Took it just for a short spin, since the package came a bit late.

The deck seems a bit wider than your normal 8.375 or 8.38, but it’s just perfect.
Even though I am a rather short guy (5’6 or 171cm) it feels super good and flips just fine.

The hollow Aces are my first hollow pair and I have to say, they are super good! Paired with the raisers, the board packs some serious pop. I was really surprised how high was the first kickflip, with a nice pow on the shoes.

This setup feels really lively and fun while also being comfortable.

All in all, this shit cured my madness! I’m finally free.

Thank you people of SLAP, you’ve helped immensely.
Peace.

This has been a goldilocks setup for me in the past too. I used 44 classics but same thing, I’m only about 5”5 and have no idea why it works so well. Might have to piece that one back together.

Same as current set up. Broke in a warm up session on flat as well , same place too.

I'm heavy as fuck (250) and skate Af1s.
Might be the reason i broke both boards quick but doa would last me weeks landing like shit. They would just flex lol. @noseb has seen how i flex the DOAs and they still skated great. Wish i could get more.

Steve sez you should try Politic. Lots of good info in here:

They don't use the flat mold. I think maxallure uses flat molds for PGI made decks. Also leo baker glue mold looks good too.

Girl 8" G045
Royal 139 Ultralights
52mm F4 99a classics
Quantum Isotopes
Jessup
Diamond P-Rod 7/8

I like this shape a lot. First Girl board in years and the wood feels good. Stiff and snappy. The isotopes are really nice too. Think I'm going to stick with these for a while after 20 years on swiss.

Appreciate the love!  That means a lot.

Santa Cruz Remillard 9.25 x 32
Indy 169 Hollows with Bones Hard Bushings
Indy Allen Hardware
Bones Reds
Spitfire 52mm OG Classics
Jessup
Etnies Windrow Vulcs

Going out of town for work so I set up a fresh piece. Only pushed around the driveway but it feels like a skateboard.
I’d skin my knee and palms so bad on my buddy’s jump ramp with that thing.

Nice! What are the specs? Looks close to Crails Couch shape. Would be fun as cruiser/transition deck.

Have set up my first non shaped board <9 inch and non Indy / Ace board in over 10 years.  Want to see how it affects my skating and if flip tricks get any easier.

Hockey John Fitzgerald 8.5
Thunder Hi 149
Spitfire F4 classic 54mm 99
Spitfire bearings cos they were super cheap.

Got the whole setup for about the full price of a Hockey board.  Stoked on the Thunders, too.  I wanted a stable truck to help with tricks as I have enough carve boards, but i'm suprised how much I like the turn, while it feels way easier to set up for tricks on.  It's not a surfy, fun turn like Aces, but it's perfect for what i want it for.  Think it works with the steeper kick too.

Had me shamelessly searching for the 91 deck and black wheels. The shape looks so good! Is it smaller than the 1991 they used to do, or exactly the same?

Get ‘em! It’s the same ol’ 1991 shape.

SoCal has the 1991 shape with this Ville graphic in stock. Great shape.

I forget what the sticker said but wheelbase is 14.375-14.4. They also do a 1991 Jr. shape with slightly smaller dims but this isn’t it.

This deck was hanging on the wall for a little bit before.  I got those wheels impulsively and sort of regretted it. Then when Ville went to to Palace I made the nerdy connection that I should put those wheels on that deck and now I’m into it. Got me hyped to skate for whatever reason. Silly shit.

Your user name got me thinking of the limo driver from Die Hard.
