Are any of you running the interlocking bushings or replacing them in the new mag lights?
I'm skating the 5.75 ones now ..

they feel hollow n weird coming from indy forged hollows they feel like they are pushing away from me occasionally
Feel stable though and the weight is obviously very nice ..

Still wondering on changing the bushings will give me any joy

I run the stock bushings and haven't done anything to them. I personally hated Indy bushings for lack of rebound.  You could try Bones bushings, they seem to be same size i guess.

I found the interlocking bushings too hard (and I didn't want to wait to break them in). They are 90a but felt harder.

I replaced them with bones, tried mediums and softs, both work but I prefer softs (I ride loose). Bones without the washers (top or bottom) are the same height as the stock tensor bushings. EDIT: Swapped to black bones mediums which are softer than the white - feels good.

They do feel weird, it's just the way magnesium grinds vs aluminium, it's the one major thing I have issues with.

I did a few pages back. Quality is perfect and they felt amazing at first but as they broke in, the turn was too much for me.  They started feeling like Ventures and eventually felt like Ace.  I could get the hard bushings and sole it which I may do some day

How was the pop? (This is my biggest piece of truck criteria). I like the look of the truck, Jereme seems like he’s in it for cool reasons, even the dbl  base plate pattern is nice.
Information on the actual specifications of these is not easy to come by.

cheers mate, I checked back over it. I’m riding aces at the moment so I don’t really care if they end up feeling like aces. I just want to move up board sizes and don’t think 44s will cut it. I read in an interview somewhere that they are close me to Indy than thunder in terms of wheelbase so on paper they sound like they’ll do the trick

Been riding the 6.0s for 3 months now, really loving them. I've ridden nothing but Indys for 20 years and these feel reasonably similar in terms of lean to turn ratio~maybe just a hair slower turn than indy 159s. Height is right around an indy standard and it seems like they have the same wheelbase geo as Indys as far as I can tell. Grind good, again similar to an indy. Build quality is quite nice. The bushings take a LONG time to break in, seemed like every session they were different until about a month in and then they settled down.

Disclaimer that I ride 1/4 risers and installed the krux dl kingpins but I also rode those with Indys so thats my frame of reference. Nice little feature is that they have a hex hole for the kingpin so you don't need to glue in a nut if you want to run reverse pins. Here they're set up on an 8.5 and the axle nuts are just a hair shy of flush.

Is there any reason to pick Film over Indys other than if you don't wanna be known as "Indy guy"?

Support Skater owned/operated?

Be 'that guy' and run them with your NFGs and <insert obscure board company of the month> deck

You want to run krux pins and they are the only FUCKING SMART COMPANY to hex the plate?

They are also cheaper. Basically less than 2/3rds the price of Indys. A set of Film trucks goes from 45 euros (the standard) to 50 euros for the one with the inverted kingpin, while a pair of indy standards are almost everywhere 70 euros a pair, not even talking about forged and stuff...

I actually am curious about Film trucks. I only saw one dude at the park with a pair once, and he rips with them.
I just wish they were a bit prettier... they kinda look like royals.

I don’t ride Indy because they don’t make stage 7 anymore and all of their new models need to be fucked with heavily before they are rideable. And yeah, I don’t want to be an Indy guy 😂

Will match the film trucks with some loophole wheels and a polar deck for extra hipster points

dope, cheers for the review!
I’ll probably run them with 1/8 risers and 54mm wheels as I do on most of my boards

I'm riding a northern co atm. DOA is probably the correct answer

Curious to try them at some point, just asked because they seem so similar to Indys.

I was going to say No.Co, but they get a pass since I'm from L.I.  DOA work.

Sorry if it has been asked already but is there a way to get film trucks in the states? And if so what size for someone who rides 8.25?

Selection might be limited but, you want the 5.5 joints if you skate 8.25

I was about to set up this new DOA beeper deck that got to the house with some NFGs but must’ve somehow known my 149s were too pedestrian and went with F4s instead.

Knowing I could reach peak SLAP hipness with trucks that will end up feeling like Aces has pretty much sold me on these Films.
I only skate prime numbers, so it's either 53s or 59s, feast or famine

I feel personally attacked. I'm not a hipster though, I was riding films before it was cool.

I actually don't like them on DOA flats though, so I have the raws on my Hotel Blue deck right now although I suppose that's not much better. Don't think I ever actually tried them on a non-flat but I really don't jive with the SC standard concave tail so I very rarely skate one. Running them with loophole 54mm teardrop shape but it's been a while since I skated that setup. The hollows are on a WKND 8.25 with F4 53mm tablets and I skate that one a little more frequently because the hollows are a bit more stable on center than the raws, probably due to the wheelbase being slightly wider.

How was the pop? (This is my biggest piece of truck criteria). I like the look of the truck, Jereme seems like he’s in it for cool reasons, even the dbl  base plate pattern is nice.
Information on the actual specifications of these is not easy to come by.

For me the pop is the worst thing about them and pretty much the only thing preventing them from being one of my favorites, but that doesn't mean it's bad. I'd compare the feel to a thunder with forged baseplates. I think the height was around the same as 148 thunder hollows when I measured but don't quote me on that. On certain decks like my 8.25 WKND the Films feel fine and I have no issues, but on others like my 8.25 passport it feels like it kind of neuters my pop compared to indy or venture (my gold standard for pop).

But this is of course all subjective, and much like Thunder there's likely people who feel like they pop better on Films than anything else. And like I said before - I don't think the pop is bad by any means, it's just not as good as some other trucks for me. Everything else about them is top tier though - the turn might actually be the best feeling turn of all the trucks I own, they grind really well, and they look really good - so I would definitely recommend trying them out if you're curious.

P.S. - My experiences with the films and tensor ATG have made me wonder why interlocking bushings aren't standard on all trucks. They feel so much better than traditional ones.

Yeah I agree. Only experience is with the ATG, but damn they were smooth. Lent my pair to a buddy and wanting them back now, even though 8.5" size is smaller and i've been feeling good with 6.1's

I had a used set of the Original Orion trucks on my first quality board back in 95. They were good trucks but I didn't like the look of the models
that came after, the ultimate and superior ones so i never tried them again.

i have a set of 5.5's that ive barely skated. i couldnt get them to break in well so i switched out the bushings to krux, they feel a bit better but i think film just might not be for me sadly.
i have the reverse kingpin ones so im not sure if thats the problem. i could pass them on to a pal if they pay for shipping.
