I have both and prefer the Huf. The material is softer, yet thicker, they have a higher rise, more of a taper, and just look better. Big fan. I bought some paint pens to black out the pocket logo.

I used to own 4 pairs of surf pants and they were my go-to pants for skating in the summer for a long time. However I only own 1 pair now. Every single pair I've owned have had the color fade in the wash. I don't get it. You know when black pants start to look dark purple cause of color fade? That's how they look. My blue, green, black, and khaki surf pants all faded after owning them for a while. Bummed cause I love the fit, just cant justify full price for these anymore.

However I still fuck with the denim. I love me some polar pants.

Same with the black ones i have...
It's annoying cuz i really like how it fits.
But the fade comes way too fast.
We should try to dye them i guess

yeah since they're cotton you can dye them to hell, over and over, just wash them again after dying so that the color doesn't stay on yo legs when you start sweating. with the different colors than black you can fuck around and buy a similar (but not identical) color dye, might give you some cool effects

I can't wear too baggy cuz I'm too tall and lanky and it isn't proportional. Tiago has a fairly short torso and decently wide shoulders for his build so it works. All about proportions.

Uniqlo Wide Chinos are really nice for the price. Perfect inseam in a 32, really nice fabric, super soft, super wide, even the zipper feels high quality.

I got those and they are right on the line for me in that the opening seems pretty big.  got mine in brown in the spirit of brown dickies.....Got waist TTS because they are baggy enough you don't need to upsize.

Same thoughts on the opening, might have my tailor taper them a tad, but that makes the overall billow effect bigger and they look baggier.

The wide jeans were tapered nicely, but now they have wide straight which I suspect is the similar to the chinos.  The chino is are a bit thicker so they’ll be nice in the fall….they are pretty baggy but don’t flap around.  summer I skated the gap baggy chinos.  The gap chinos are a bit slimmer, and material is thinner so they worked well…..strangely the gap jeans I felt too baggy and not tapered enough.

Same, the Gap leg opening was like 10" wide. These Uniqlo work tho. Measurements be damned they look less billowy than they fit.

How do y’all feel about 550’s? Would you consider them loose fit? Do you have any recommendations for pants that fit Similar to polar 93’s? I’m in a madness of trying to find a good loose that’s not too baggy rn

I love 550s they’re a nice comfortable looser fitting pair of jeans. Not too baggy and not too slim. They’re relaxed fit so bigger in the seat and thigh area and sort of taper a bit past the knee, I’ve never worn a pair of polar jeans though so I can’t speak to any similarities.

I love 550’s. The 90’s/early 2000’s ones are the best if you can find them. Thrift or vintage store, eBay and online markets. The newer gen ones are still good. Can find them at Levi’s, Macys etc. I’d recommend a size or 2 up. A belt will probably be required but the fit on them is so much better than TTS. I also haven’t worn any Polar jeans to compare. I really want a nice pair of chinos but I’m wide and short so I really prefer to try on pants before I get them. I mostly shop at thrift stores but not opposed to paying up and buying the right fitting pair from a skate shop or any store. Been really curious about Uniqlo, I’ve heard some good recommendations from everyone in this thread. I’d love to have some Dickies that actually feel and fit good. They’re usually too slim and stiff when I have tried them on in the past.

550 are relaxed but not baggy. Normies who are wearing tighter cropped pants still will think they are but in reality they're the classic Dad jean and they'll probably never not be passable. The new denim is kinda rough but softens up after a bit. If you go 1 waist size up they're loose enough for skating and look good on most people.

Relaxed: 550, Pass~Port, Frog, Carhartt WIP simple pants, etc most straight cut mid to high rise.

Relaxed tapered: Polar 93, Huf Cromer, older Silvertabs, the older Uniqlo loose fit stuff from 2 years ago, Carhartt WIP Landon

Baggy: Carhartt double knee, Big Boys, most Butter fits, 569, Uniqlo wide leg.

Thinking about giving these Wasted Paris pants a try, they look pretty nice on photo and price is way more than friendly right now. Anybody had some experience?

Went back for seconds on the fake chinese big boys and got BURNT.

I wanted a pair of big boy shorts which most of the sellers on dhgate also have along with the pants. Ended up with a different seller than i had purchased from previously, the old sellers store was long gone. They arrived pretty quick, only took around a week, but they're clearly just a random pair of shorts with some tags sewn on.

Fit is pretty bad and they aren't even that baggy. I'm only out $19 so not too bummed about it and they're still wearable. They don't compare at all to the quality of the big boy jeans I got though.

Ahhh yes @BartHarleyJarvis the bootleg Big Boys... Had my run in with a pair a couple years back on Mercari, absolute shit quality when compared to the normal ones and the fit was, bizarre to say the least... I tend to stay away from Big Boys on marketplace platforms now, just not worth the risk and as you stated, the varied sizing and quality.

Kind of a random question, but someone might have the answer. I bought a pair of Pangea jeans from the first run in a size 38 and even though they were stamped with a 38, they are clearly more like a 36 at most. Anyone else know of this or run into a similar issue? Obviously with 1st runs, there is bound to be some variability and dialing in, just curious cause I'm kind of bummed they didn't fit like I wanted.

I will say, my first pair were actually super legit, even down to having a polar button on the front, so we're 1 for 2 on the dhgate dupes. I know some other people ordered with varying success. My buddy bought a pair of black big boys and the fit/quality was right, but they smell like super terrible dye and I'm not sure whether it's washed out at all lol

All that to say, buyers beware. Be ready to potentially throw away $20

general rule with Pangea is size up. I’m a 32 in most brands and I get a 34 in pangeas. Waists fit tight like you said. Only thing that didn’t fit that way was the tan cords they have rn. Those 32’s fit like 34’s, 34’s like 36 etc

Pretty disappointed in my quasi warren pants earth colorway that showed up today. The denim feels super thin like you're wearing pajamas and the stitching is sloppy.  Going to return them but if anyone knows of some higher quality brown denim pants in a 32 inseam LMK, the fit was actually really nice on them too which bums me out.

I really like the fit and feel of the Theories Plaza denim, similar to Polar 93 fit- their 36 has a 32 inseam per TOA's website but SPOT is the only place I could find with a 36 in stock

Carhartt style #B11: Men's Utility Work Pant - Loose Fit - Washed Duck.
I recommend sizing up on the waist. For example, if you usually wear a 34", get a 36".

Good looks on the insight. I have a pair of the feldspar pants in a size 38 and they fit like a real 38, hence my surprise when I copped these and it just didn't meet my expectation. Pants are a fickle thing, I never have an opportunity to actually try on about 95% of the pants I buy so a lot of my information comes from here or the sellers. Grabbed a couple pairs of Tightbooth pants recently from someone and they were super informative, giving me measurements and everything, which made things much easier and reassuring.

On a side-note, I've been noticing brands like Butter, Cash Only and Pangea doing smaller runs of size 40+ pants, sometimes only going up to 36 or 38. If you could actually see me you'd think that's ridiculous, as I'm about 5' 4" and have a 32 waist, but I like my pants big and baggy, might be a sign that the baggy pants "trend" is on its way out in the eyes of the manufacturers.
