Not a slick. Just embossed wood. Fun decks tho. I keep going back to them.

FWIW, the Metal Fred Gall deck (8.5") feels A LOT like a Hockey deck. I know Fred was skating FA/Hockey stuff for a minute and did that guest board with them. It's a fantastic deck. Feel amazing and you can really sit on nose slides. I run Indy 159s with 56mm/95a Slimeballs. Perfect crust setup.

I'll try to add a photo of the one I have on ice so you can get a good view of the nose.

Per a Metal Instagram post: "[T]he shape was designed by Fred based off his favorite shovel nose board."

Just killed my 8.38 Hockey so I downsized to a 8.25 FA embossed. Love the shape and short WB

I've skated a few embossed decks, they do slide a tiny bit better than regular, until the embossing wears down, then it's business as usual.

I don't seem to have easy access right this minute, but the FA 8.25 board I have seems to be straight through the rail, whereas the Quasi boards I have seen before always seem to have significant taper from front to back, which is fairly common in some brands / woodshops / shapes.

FA being BBS steepish and squared kicks, Quasi being PS Stix so big steep nose and smaller not so steep tail.

https://www.tactics.com/quasi-skateboards/proto-fade-825-skateboard-deck/yellow-pink

SPECS
SIZE   8.25
LENGTH (IN):   32.125   * 31.8 when measured straight across
WHEELBASE (IN):   14.25
NOSE (IN):   6.875
TAIL (IN):   6.5

Random FA board from their site:

https://faworldentertainment.com/en-au/collections/boards/products/jake-anderson-class-photo

.25" x 31.79"
14.12" Wheel Base

FA boards have a shorter wheelbase, so longer kicks for almost the same overall length, with steeper kicks.

There are pics on both those links too, so it is easy enough to check those, but here are the side by side comparison pics anyway.

I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

If you are used to BBS then PSTIX is going to throw you off your game. I prefer PSTIX but I donít flip my board anymore.

I have been really liking Snack decks. They have really square noses.

Wow, that looks nasty. How does the tail compare to FA/Hockey in terms of length/steepness? Found some of the older models listed with 6.5 tails but no info on these super square ones.

I havenít had the super square one. But when I compare my snack deck to a shovel hockey deck they donít look too different. Without standing on one the hockey deck it seems to have steeper kicks and mellower concave, but I really donít want to make a claim cause I never rode a hockey deck.

Tim is so good. He should be a household name. Here is another square board from IL:

The Guano Egg is leaning snow skate, but I dig it.

while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo
