Old board

New board I set up today and skated for about 2 hours. I intentionally tried to avoid the F14 on the last one, won’t do that on this one sucks the fun out of skating. The ledges I skated today just weren’t board/lip slide-able.

Ok I'm gonna put my hand up and admit I just don't know.

Why is the forbidden 14 a thing?

Early 90s when nose slides were the big thing and crooked grinds were just coming in, some of the super rad dudes made it a thing, the EMB crew or others, I cannot remember, but it was all about the nose or tail, not doing boardslides at all.

Still more of a weird funny thing than anything else, and I guess a bit more of a laugh today than anything, but if you look at what people were skating in during that era "big pants small wheels" I think that would answer most of the questions, even if the forbidden 14 outlasted the BPSW era for a few years.

On another note I saw Native has new boards and they look pretty good, via instagram.

I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

I guess it’s just bragging rights, like I’m so tech I don’t have to do board/lip slides (which I’m definitely not) haha. But there were several times I felt limited at certain spots and I dont like that feeling so won’t do it intentionally again.

Think Maybe there is another Native board company out there? This one is my buddies brand out of Charlotte NC last I spoke to him he said it would be awhile before he got new boards due to product delays. Where’s the one you saw new stuff from? I’m curious

Actually it is a shop, Native shop in the UK - thought you were also there in the UK along with Richard too, hence the mention, but of course it is not the same thing.

Just under 3 weeks old. It was a great board. Hopefully someone else will give it a second life when I leave it at the skatepark

Yeah I’ve had them for a bit. I used to buy stickers like every other drop and have quite a few.

Props to skating that board so long, as you can see from the board I just stopped skating, I only skate a board 3-4 weeks.

Yeah man, that old 'skate it till its dust cause I can't afford a new one' mentality is still there.  I would have got a few more weeks of old man skating out of it if I hadn't 'snapped' it.

This is one of my favorite boards I’ve had so I’m skating it as long as possible. Also boardslides are fun and I’m proud of the (very faint) marks from finally starting to learn crooked grinds.

3 Sessions deep. All curbs and ledges, no skateparks. Trying to make AA proud. At my age I feel pretty good about these marks.

Such respect for the F14, speaks to your board control to never slip out to a board / lipslide

Very pleasing photo

But most of all. How the wood stain matches the ledge.

Precisely why I wanted to break it in at this ledge
