    • Felix Arguellas and Jason Rothmeyer (tie) - Felix had a really bad style and lack of exceptional skill. I remember that his butt would always be sticking out really far when landing tricks and we’d make fun of that while watching 411 or whatever shitty Planet Earth video post-Now ‘n’ Later. He was super underwhelming. Rothmeyer had a horrible style, no pop, and did the ugliest lines. He also came across as annoying from his Foundation days onward. If you were a fan, then you need to apologize to all of us. Most of the dudes on Santa Cruz and SMA (post Natas and Julien Stranger days) were very unimpressive and lacked charisma. Ron Whaley was like seven foot tall or some shit! They just didn’t make skating look very good and weren’t hanging with a lot of the other pros at the time.

I'm late to the party on this, cos it's a shit idea for a thread, but WTF? Lumping JR in with Felix? Fuck right off. Jason's style was/is great.
I hate Felix as much as anyone else, dude had the worst style ever and is a huge kook, but he was a really good skater, I think he ended on Planet Earth mainly cuz he was really good at vert and street skating. His Cat's Cradle part is super cringe though, but the tricks he did on the knobbed rail in downtown San Diego were nuts. Rothmeyer is sick though[/list]

The A. Stephens pick is a layup but really you could make the same argument for Clark Hassler. That doesnt sit well with me, which is making me rethink Stephens. I guess a mean flick goes a long way

Austin Stephens sponsor me tape was actually pretty good for the times. He used to skate some pretty big rails but somewhere around Good and Evil he started playing the old man game well before he was actually an old man.

Pat Ngoho invented the manual, and has been shredding for 40 years. Per welinder as a street skater would be a a better choice…

    Pat Ngoho
    Corey O Brien
Daniel Haney or any of those dudes from that era that could only grind rails

Has no one thrown in Mikey Taylor into the ring?

Would always just do basic ass tricks on rails like feebles and crooks, also tanked all his street league competitions.

SkateMore Mikey definitely leaned hard into the feeble and crook variations but Minefield era Mikey mixed it up more and hit some heavy spots. Yeah a kook now and his SkateMore rant is funny but not this list (skating wise) material in my opinion.

Per did have a pretty decent transworld spread doing a backside 360 judo off a launch ramp over a car back on 1987. So, there’s that
how on gods green earth did you come to the conclusion that Corey o’ brien was a handrail skater?? He was an 80’s Santa Cruz pro that most likely never touched a handrail with his skateboard

Somehow just realized Vincent Alvarez has the crappiest trick selection ever. How did it take until Bunny Hop for me to realize this? How did he even make it to Bunny Hop?

Add in Josh Swindell and Jay Adams and we’ve got more murderers than can fit in the top three. Seems like a lot for a sport that’s like forty years old.

Bam - Skates about as good as every skatepark kid at their local in every town.

Jub - best trick is just rolling off of stuff

Matt Allen - Just about every trick he put out in a video part was one-upped by someone else in the same video.

This is my favorite answer. Matt Allen did that weird thing with his front hand where he made the "OK" sign. It was super kooky. Jub worked at the First Gear Boardshop in the IL suburbs and was a complete dick. Fuck that guy.

    Was Daniel Castillo ever pro?

I’d say Justin Eldridge has been a pretty bad pro.  He was an for Yeah Right and Hot Chocolate and he hasn’t done much for the nearly 20 years his name has been on a board.

he dropped his eSpecial part in the mid 2000's and had footy in plenty of their tour videos, etc. He also had enough footy to have a full part in Pretty Sweet but Ty Evans trimmed it down to him having barely any footage in the video. I'm still salty about that. To say 20 years of being inactive is bit of a stretch, maybe the last 8-9 years would be a better answer. He's also a part of the Crailtap retirement camp so they'll keep making him as well as their other inactive pros boards periodically. Anyways, his skating in the re-edit they did is pretty solid

Daniel castillo was pro at some point and I hate him, always did
Dude had a 20 year career doing the same manuals and no complys, never had a full part and had top sponsors, stupid

Justin Roy from Foundation was pretty bad compared to rest to the rail chompers of the era
