Not to take food out of chem_skates mouth but you can also acquire a set of Indy 159 or 169s with cast baseplates and use the extra hole to drill forward or back 3/8".
[close]
If you don't already have the indy plates the chem tool is a no brainer at $22.

Ah good point

Hmmmm
Could I just use an independent 6 hole riser pad?
[close]

It does work.

Any truck with a six hole baseplate or even risers as templates work for a 3/8" change.

Just put the deck bolts through the other holes to hold in place (with or without the truck mounted too) and mark them out in case they move, then drill.  To do the other end, turn it around and put the deck bolts through the new holes at one end.

Simple enough but the most annoying thing is if the template / truck / risers move and your truck is off center.
Wouldn't socking the other 4 bolts down and then drilling two holes at a time work best? It's a lot of screwing and unscrewing but it's better that than crooked trucks.

Didn’t Primitive buy Clutch?

Just gotta mention clutch is probably the lowest quality wood I've ever ridden. I've never broken a board on flatground before skating a northern co clutch board and I broke 2 in 1 weekend. I weigh 140 lbs. Also they lost pop by the 4th or 5th session.

agreed. my local shop decks and the local company, Roger uses them and they are the flimsiest decks and snap all the time. I keep buying them for some reason when I forget how bad they are.

Yes, definitely, but even like that I know one guy who swore he did it all with the utmost care and they still turned out crooked.

I found that by marking them out on the deck too, at least it was easier to keep things straight.  Some baseplates have oval holes from use, which is not ideal either, or even the slight difference between size of bolt and size of holes, but it is minimal really.

Using something like plastic risers often makes things a bit more unstable too, but I have made it work fairly well with any of these options with whatever was at hand.

EDIT:

Those redrilling kits are very snug sitting in the existing holes and the drill bit, which gives much less room for error too.

I wasn't a huge fan of the BBS April 8.25 (i've got the yellow Yuto with the takeout food)... short wheelbase and long overall length made it amazing for manuals but it sucked on a lot of flatground tricks for me, i couldn't really find the sweet spot for flip tricks.

I've kept hold of it if I ever need to manual to the next town over, but I much preferred the Primitive 8.125" BBS I had prior.

Be interesting to see where Primitive and April boards end up being made long term.

At the moment i'm super hyped on the crailtap 8.25 G027, just bought my third one in a row.
[close]

That G027 is such a good all round popsicle shape. I skated my last one way longer than I should have because I didn’t wanna let it go. I like the G052 as well but not as much as the G027. I actually have a PS Stix made G052 right now and it’s honestly not as nice feeling as the China made boards are to me. Also the wb measured 14.125” so I don’t think it is a true G052, it’s probably some mold that PS Stix has that they thought was close enough

The G027 is my favorite shape too. It's a little steeper than the G052, so it makes doing flip tricks easier for me (I'm 5'11''). I have it on thunder hollow lights and don't get as worn out easily since the setup feels so light.

I had two Rogers in a row that had an awful creak and broke on me. I liked the shape a lot but I will not be going back. The quality was just piss poor.

Goddamn. Those real boards…the 8.06 looking perfect. Except for the REAL and the graphic etc.
I mean the best dudes in the shit run that co, ishod is my favorite….and I just hate real shit. Love krooked. Will skate ah. I don’t get it.
I’ve definitely whined about this before but even tho all of the boards are the same, between the three co’s, I like the real’s the least. If I didn’t know, I’d say the wood was different. And it’s not. I don’t get it.

all i ride is 14" wb, have wb jigs from @chems_skate to make any of the wide bois as close to 14" as possible for my slappy setups. YOU ARE NOT ALONE! we need to message companies and tell them to keep the 14" wb the industry is moving all sizes to 14.25". #14"wb4life!

BBS wood, 8" board with 14" wheelbase that is squared off and feels full, is the perfect shape/board for me. Wish someone made 8" boards with 13.875" WB though, I feel like I'd really benefit from that short of a board.

I'm with you on the 14" or just below. Loving the girl couch and love seats wb at 13.875.

I ride now scumco, the nicholson "easy rider" from this spring drop that is  31 length, it is labelled 8 (but actually is more like 8.1), 14 wb, full nose and tail, mellow kicks, mellow/mid concave , ps wood. I love it!
Last year i had another shortie from antihero 8.12/31.38/14, real also released this shape with the red oval graphic early this year. The tail is steep (i had the I roman numeral) and i needed some time to get used to it, but once got it it was perfect!
I have seen some short 14wb decks on the sub 8 width range.

Anyone skated one of the recent Alien Workshop 8.125s? Looks like they’ve come out with a shorter shape if the dims are to be believed - 8.125 x 31.5 14”wb. Sounds pretty nice to me, hope it’s not a typo because a lot of the 8.125 I’ve seen from them in the past few years have been 32+ long with a 14.25” wheelbase which is just gross

Just picked up a Girl Malto G052 to replace an April 8.25. The April was great. Super mellow and responsive. The G052 shape is almost the exactly the same but it’s slightly shorter and it has a little bit steeper tail and nose. It still feels mellow overall, but the slightly steeper tail and nose makes the manual point feel better to me. There’s more room before it tips. It’s a nice shape.

Ok

I am short, 5’8”, so I’m not what you are looking for. That being said, low pop and big boards are an iconic duo

I would imagine that would be a Yes.

Skated one the other day that someone had and although they are steep, it wasn't as weird as I thought it would be, coming from the most mellow DLX or similar BBS boards.

Another one that I have, used from someone, that I compare kicks with other boards is always so much steeper.

If you like steep kicks and shorter wheelbases, those boards should work really well for you.
