Re short laces - I think after a couple of skates, the suede shoe stretched some and the laces fit a lot more comfortably, or maybe the padded tongue flattened out some as well.
Could also be the reason a lot of people only lace them up to the metal eyelet too, hence the reasoning behind leaving the top one or two lace holes as I think that debate could go on for ever.
Wrong way around. The laces are short because the Halfcab handbook says, you must not lace up top two eyelets.
Ha yeah for sure!!!
Seems like the Classic Half Cab laces are longer, after re checking. Just tried on a couple of pairs including the all black Skate range and I only did the laces up to the hole above the eyelet and they worked great to walk around in for half the day.
I guess if people want to do them right up, they gotta really pull those things tight or change out laces to longer ones, or as already said, just follow the handbook and only lace them up to where ever the laces allow.
The average Half Cab laces were 140 to 160 cm long depending on the model, same as Old Skool (140 cm) or Sk8 Hi (160 cm) but then with some having a thicker tongue and others thinner, I could have a lot of lace left over when I had the 160 cm laces in them.
