Aliexpress is my go to for laces in bulk - keep a small tube of super glue handy at home to dab the laces and you're set.

1. I need to know where to find massive baggy trousers like Tom Penny wears/used to wear. There's trousers like the Polar Big Boys but they're just not quite as baggy.  Everything he wears is massive and im jealous. I cant find anything the same. He even seems to be the only person on earth who wears stuff that baggy - no other pros compete. I'll attach some links of the level of baggy I mean. (https://www.instagram.com/reel/C2BOVhOPEz7/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==)

2. For the multi layered tshirt effect do i need to massive tshirts of 1-size different?

3. How do i stop being so obsessed with Tom Penny? (send help)

#1: Get jeans that are significantly larger than your size. If your waist is 32”, get loose or relaxed jeans with a 40” waist.

#2: Wear a 2XL white tee under an XL black tee.
[close]

That would work but it doesnt look like the jeans have a massive waist. It would be more bunched up no?
[close]

When we were going through that era back in the 90s, we would cut two holes, one on either side of the fly and thread a shoe lace through the middle waist band, then tie it up so although it is a bit bunchy it works a lot better than trying to use a belt or similar thing.

It was also a lot cheaper than paying $100 for Blind or other skate brand jeans at the time - convert that now to about $300 for those really big designer / high price brand jeans now.

When you have such a big shirt or top on over everything, you will not even see a bit of the jeans above the inseam.

Brands that do have the "huge" leg include Butter, Polar and some others I can't think of right this minute.

In the 90’s it would cost $5 to get your $5 thrift store jeans tailored to your waist. A little more if you had them resew the back pockets on. Back then almost every working class mom had a sewing machine so we had that going for us too. I would assume it would cost much more today but there might be a YouTube video to show you how to do it

Thanks ! Do you randomly choose the laces or are some more resistant than others ? I imagine that « foamy » running round type laces are not good for example ?

Flat ones or ones that fit the look of the shoe, with super glue any shape of lace will last a long time

Surely it’s just my puig indoor being terrible design cos I break a lace every session or 2. I’ve used the back foot lace on the front foot, applied super glue on the friction areas and it broke at one point and is nearly breaking at two other. To be fair those laces are are narrow and the shoe is not the best design for long lasting

Which wood shop or board brand has the most tapered kicks and are not eggs if they even exist? Looking mainly for 7.75-8.2

Element - they use a combination of BBS and China woodshops and their decks are very tapered

Santa Cruz - Tom Asta's signature 8.0 shape is very pointy

I think generally it is more the brand, than a woodshop, given many woodshops have all manner of shapes, many trending towards wider ends, full type of shapes, blunt kicks or similar, so the tapering or pointy kicks is almost not quite so common any more.

Smaller or more narrow boards will often look a bit more pointy in the kicks compared to some wider boards too, but again that might just be my own eye with some older boards, as not that many brands make smaller boards that I see more recently either - almost all the boards I have come through my hands are 8.25 and up, mainly 8.5 and up actually but a quick search still seems like there are a few of high 7s and a good number of 8s too.

As far as brands off the top of my head, I would have said older Santa Cruz and Creature boards were very pointy but don't appear to be now, some Baker, DGK and defunct Kayo Corp boards also quite pointy, newer Element (China wood) also very pointy and Zoo York were very pointy (also old stock) or from looking at sites that show the top pics of boards, I would say these seem closer to pointy than not:

https://www.tactics.com/element/westgate-landrein-80-skateboard-deck

https://www.tactics.com/baker/tyson-flame-80-skateboard-deck

Maybe this one looks the most pointy:

Ha yeah, I didn't even see this post before, but those Element boards are very pointy now.

anyone ever skate this aws/habitat shape? about to pull the trigger and get this. the shape alone seems enticing, but the graphic, and the teal dip make me want to skate it that much more.

This has me cracking up, what exactly does Black Flag have to do with measuring your dick starting behind ya nuts?

You may want to tape measure the length and wheelbase, I received an 8.38 from Alien Workshop with dims that were off. Listed as 32 but it was a 31.75.

But yes the graphic and dip are a beauty.

good looks. yea, habitat has 4 different 8” shapes, and I’ve tried 2 of the 4. this is basically the same dimensions as the 8.125” habitat I had last. just a tad skinnier.

Is there a way to find what brands use a specific BBS shape? I’m currently riding a BBS 8.75 with dimensions as seen in my photo below, but the brand no longer uses this shape for their 8.75’s. Hoping to find the same shape on another brand.
Edit: there is an approx quarter inch taper as well, from 8.75 over front truck to 8.5 over back.

I had a lot of Element boards with those exact markings, obviously different sizes, shapes, etc coming through, but as most of the Element boards are now made in China, it seems really hard to get hold of any more.

The main thing I did notice is although they had very specific sizes and dimensions on them, most were actually very much generic BBS / Generator shapes for the main boards.

Finding a shorter wheelbase on any longer board can be a really difficult thing, although some brands do go more for shorter wheelbases, BBS wood including Polar and Black Label just off the top of my head, so those two are worth looking up.

Another one is the Antihero Cardiel 8.62 board, not the usual longer DLX board, but the Hella Concave listed board which is 14.5 wb with 32.2 or so length.

Note the length on the Element boards was more often than not along the concave, so although some of my boards said 32.7 length, they were only 32.3 with the other dimensions being about right, for nose, tail, wheelbase and width.

Can you use a tape measure, straight across, and see what everything actually measured, because the overall length is too long for the other measurements, which adds up to just over 32.6 given the trucks are 4.25" with everything else as listed there.

Nothing to do with shoes & gear, but I don't want to create a new thread in UWTB like a kook, so I'll ask here instead - what happened to Uncle Flea? Looks like his account got nuked and turned into a 'guest' account under a different name.

Thought it was strange not seeing him for a while, he's usually a prolific poster. Hope he's OK!

Uncle Flea nuked his old account (that's why it shows up as 'Guest' and reverted to the original name with which you registered) and re-registered as Unkle Fleak.

Anyone who likes short WB tried the Real/DLX True Fit shape?

I want to pull the trigger on Hermann's debut 8.5, but don't really know if I should be set on skating or hanging it. I liked Crail's 8.5" x 14" WB and the true fit doesn't seem too far off (at least on paper).

eh fuck it, i'm getting it. Still interested to hear if anyone enjoys the shape

I had the anti hero one and nollie tricks felt really hard on it. It was a fun board but too squirrelly for me. I like a slightly longer board. Width was fine I like a more symmetrical shape if possible and this one seemed to have quite a taper from nose to tail.

it anything it was an essential piece in solving my board madness

How soft do you want to go?

Lots of those softer wheels have really good grip, but not sure if you want the silent / deadly option like Spitfire 80HD wheels / Krooked Zingers.

Also usually lots of grip and not much slide, so something about mid range might be more what you are after, not the cruiser 78 to 86 duro type wheels, even 90 or 92 duro in some are good.

Can't say Dragons or Soft Sliders as I just don't know how they would go there, but they might be more the best option.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

I actually loved the 8.25 True Fit with 13.88 wb and 31.5 length. The shortness took a bit of adjustment at first, but then I had a good old time especially on flatground, riding 5.6. Hi forged Ventures.
