How are Quantum bearings compared to Bones? Is it all you basically get what you pay for?

Yes.

Anybody has that Bones tool to take out bearings?
Is it worthy?

Genuine question, why is it necessary?
Cranking bearings out with my truck axel has always worked fine and never damaged the bearing or axel threads.

If it's just to have a fun new toy in the toolbox, I totally back that. I love buying new gadgets.

The way I have to twist my wrist to do it annoys me a little (more than a little actually)
Is not like is a necessity for sure.

the bearing press is hella usefull imo because sometimes the wheel doesnt cure properly or osmething and the space can be insanely tight and sometimes the bearing doesnt seat properly unless you do some wild shit

Sometimes they're in pretty tight in 101a's (and I assume harder wheels).

Old wheels especially Ricta Cores were notoriously hard to twist the bearings out, WD40 and a dry rag I still ended up with blisters on my palms. Double the bearing puller would have helped in that instance.

When inserting bearings into hella hard wheels (e.g. Bones SPF 84b, which are notoriously tedious with regards to inserting bearings), just lube the outside rims of the bearings with just the tiniest bit of oil. No bearing press needed.

that sounds great just messy :)
what i do i dont recommend cause i think you could damage your bearing.... i just tighten the hell out of the nut, flip it over and do the same on the other side. i used to always do this as a teenager for some reason, i was absolutely mental about it. i think it was more common the space was shitty back then too. pretty sure i damaged my bearings doing this more than once though.

Seriously get an actual bearing press.  You'll change one set of bearings with it and curse all the time you spent doing it this way.  They are worth every cent of the ~$50 bucks you'll spend.

If deluxe sold completes in 8” / 8.25” / 8.5” real anti hero krooked with thunder trucks 147 / 148 / 149 and f4 classic 52/53/54 mm with andale bearings

Would you consider it if it was cheaper (would not come assembled but all together in a box) and by how much?

I like to keep it small, sure a proper bearing press is a game changer but I want something to carry with myself

I was thinking about this the other day, but like say the exact setup Ishod (or G.T. etc) skates. But not andale bearings..

  I wouldn't.

There's so many great options now that saving a couple bucks to have bearings and a wheel shape that I don't care for just wouldn't be worth it to me.

This is pretty much my go-to set up minus the bearings, but I still probably wouldn't do it. In my 20 years of skateboarding I think I can count on one hand how many times I've gotten a totally new complete rather than just replacing components as I go.

Spitfire makes three different sets of bearings, and Andale has no connection to DLX. Also, I'm pretty sure Andale went out of business, considering Tiago got on SKF and the last IG post is from 4 years ago.

To answer the question, I would not, based on the options. I'm adamant on Venture 5.8 with cast baseplates, Bones Swiss 6, and 56-60 mm Conical/Radial Full. If I save at least $30, and get my truck/wheels options, I would do it, and give away the bearings.

Our local distributor here in AU had done that for a long time, still do to an extent, but more so made to order for shops to sell completes at a reduced price to regular pro prices.

For ages there would be DLX decks with Thunder / Venture trucks, Spitfire wheels with other basic parts, which worked really well for what they were and I had quite a number of them come through my hands over the years.

As others have said though, the likelihood of wanting everything exactly as is for someone who knows what they are used to is not really going to work, but as a quality complete, they were great for a lot of skaters who were not quite beginners but didn't have the knowledge or specific needs as most skaters, but could buy a complete straight off the shelf and have a good setup for way less than buying everything as components.

Price for all this was about 2/3 of regular retail parts when everything was listed, just for reference, so AU $150 to $200 compared to $250 to $300 for the same parts.

Pro / pricepoint decks, basic polished trucks, Lil Smokies wheels, whatever other parts - generic bearings, bolts and grip.

* There are a lot more of these around for Christmas gift completes too, compared to the rest of the year, so as far as I have seen, they usually sell fairly well too.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

Yes. By the way, you should apply some superglue to the stitching near the ollie area and have one or two sets of extra laces. The durability and comfort suck after the first week.

Unless you got a decent deal, I would recommend getting a pair of Rowan 2 if you want Vans, or holding out for the NB#933.

They used to be made by Creative. The 101 felt closest to a 99 Spit but less icy at first. Def weren't as fast feeling but still really nice. I liked em more than the Loopholes people on here were super into.

They’re Quarter Distribution, like local brand Brodega. It’s canadian maple, but MIC. First skate shop, has blanks to sell. They also have Tremendous trucks and Zupply wheels/grip. The ones I’ve stepped on have been fine. They feel like the dwindles I’ve sat foot on, albeit a little heavier. Stiff and resinous. Poppy and hard wearing.

If you want to test the waters you can buy

Any board left out in the weather is more likely to delaminate and paint to come off, so maybe using multiple repeat layers of clear coat could help with that.

Constant direct sunlight on any skateboard is going to make it warp, delaminate and start to deform, in the same way that ply left outside does too, but painting it might help a bit with that.  Also keeping it semi covered might also help, but as with a skateboard used as a sign for a place I know, they just don't last that long outside.
