what are some factors other than length and wb that affect how long a deck feels?

got a quasi 31.8 x 14 wb and it feels longer compared to the manderson shape  (32 x 14.25)
[close]

I think pointy noses can visually appear longer as square noses. But maybe square noses can make a deck appear longer? Sometimes you get the same overall deck length but the nose and tail is either shorter or longer.
[close]

thanks for the looks. just eyeballed the shape and the tail is mellow, square and long

kick angle might affect it too

Wow sorry, didn't realise I was dealing with a sick cunt here

Anybody ever ordered from dressinn?

https://www.tradeinn.com/dressinn/en/new-balance-numeric-440-high-v2-trainers/140622153/p?utm_source=google_products&utm_medium=merchant&id_producte=142293607&country=cz&gad_source=1

I have from tradeinn.com, it's the same company just different department. Big box online store from Spain.
My order went without the problem, it did took a while until order shipped. This was couple of years ago.

thanks man. just compared it to my previous decks and the kick angle is pretty mellow. used to boards that ramp up higher. slapped some aces on. initially thought it’d feel crammed since aces feel tight on 14.25 alone. aces feel nice on longer tails

My wheel popped off with an exploded bearing while crooking a chunky ledge. The cage is fully intact. I went back to the scene of the murder the following day and found broken ball bearings. They were Bones Ceramic Super Reds bought on sale for $60 from a reputable dealer. Fake? I've never seen anything like this. When my bearings blow apart, it is always caused by the crown breaking. Are there issues with ceramic ball bearings shattering?

Damn Puffin. I too have not seen that with these. Tho I’ve heard of it on and away from slap

Daewon was on the cover and was a playable character in Grind Session so there is that.

He talks about it in his Heckride interview, says he was with the Slave guys when filming. That barrier is called Ol' Yeller

Another “not shoes and gear-related, but nowhere else to post” question: Can anyone share details on this random skate obstacle I saw a few times years ago? It’s a volcano at a skatepark where the top spins mechanically. I was thinking about it and realized I’ve never skated anything like that in my life and was curious what it’s like.

Yup saw it yesterday and thought there was footage and now it's driving me nuts that I can't find said footage.

I know that it is the spot on your deck where you don't grip it. But where exactly? Tail? Nose? What are the rules there and who did it first?

What's the difference between BBS and Generator?

BBS is the woodshop manufacturer, based in Mexico, where they make everything, not just boards but other things too.

Generator is the distributor / retail arm for blanks made by BBS and other products, based in CA, that stores the blanks, puts the heat transfers on and other similar things.

Big established distros / brands deal with BBS directly for their boards and other needs - eg DLX, Bakerboys and many others, whereas smaller brands deal with Generator for blanks to put their brand / graphics on.

There's a whole lot more to it than that, but for simple basics, that is pretty much it, I believe.

Haven't skated it but theres a rotating volcano at Tigard. I heard there's a switch or something that turns it on, like hot tub jets. Could be wrong tho. Might just be a big ball bearing that you spin manually.

same park with the dinosaur extension

Anyone know a shoe with similar feel to the Lucas puig?  The first version, not the indoor sole.

They're slowly phasing them out here for the indoor version, and it's one of the best shoes I've ever skated.

This happened with the Nike project BA as well back in the day. Great shoe that was instantly impossible to find.

Ideally looking for a classic that's never/ very unlikely to stop being made like the busenitz or blazer, but don't want to drop £80+ on testing it out.

Just did that with the Leo React and can't get on with them at all (too chunky feeling / squishy sole feels unstable to me).

I'd say Westgate 508, super underrated shoe and is been around forever or at least it feels like.

Idk why I can't add the image straight away.
Thing I'd like to know if this graphic is some kind of homage or something since I have the feeling of seeing similar stuff but can't remember where.

Sorry for the messy google link, but here’s a classic east coast stripe, but where I’m from they were mostly on the tail.
I believe they came to trend from Zoo York mixtapes, but I could be mistaken.

Is there any difference fit wise between the skate half cab and the 92 ones?
Tempted about them after seeing the POP video.
Found a good deal on the Nick Michel 92 and the all brown skate ones.

I know it would probably vary from brand to brand, but how long is too long to keep shoes on ice before they start to deteriorate rapidly when you skate them?

I think as long as they've never been worn/been kept dry and cool it shouldn't have too much effect on regular vulc shoes and plain cupsoles. I think as far as different foams and stuff crumbling it takes about 10-20 years.
Don't know about skating but there's this insta account called pillowheat and they sell like 40+ year old vans and cons and people wear them

East coast stripe is on the "East" side of the board and back in the 90's people ran them to signify "hey I'm skating in your area but at least I'm not from CA" as a source of pride.

I never knew about that till like 201? I don’t even remember seeing that around at all.

Under age 16 17 if you had anything other than wall to wall you was sus or old.
That’s like the full duration of the street thing. I’d ask. Why you do that? Guy can’t be wrong.

Paging @Mbrimson88, @Woodshop and all pals who've sanded off deck graphics – do you have any pointers for a first-time sander on what kind of grit you recommend, which technique to use etc.? I'm very partial to the Ishod 8.5 twin shape and can get my hands on a bunch of them at once for a good price... but they all got the Cathedral graphic, and I really don't think I can or even want to pull off that one.

See if RipTide has a Gullwing pivot. They might have. The Sidewinder DKP trucks were big for a while and may have used the same pivot mould. If not their "Indy" pivot might fit. Or else generic Mini Logo aftermarket etc.
