My friend just gave me a screen and I got some blank decks. Excited to print his art on the boards but realized I should check.

What type of paint should I buy and are there any tips people might have in screening your own graphics? Tried the search function and didn’t find a threat apologies if one already exists though

I think it's called speedball ink. I don't know how good this guy is but I had this video saved for years he at least clearly goes thru his process.

I’ll check this out thank you so much!

plastisol is what a lot of OG decks used.

Can someone help me find an 8125 - 8.38 twin football? What I was looking for don’t exist anymore. 14” wb would be nice too.

8.25 egg with 14” wb

Long shot, but I’m looking for a shape that might not exist

Basically looking for a polar surf jr but with 14.25 wheelbase and preferably the same width as a surf jr or narrower, anybody know of anything like this?
[close]

Antihero Genius shape. Not narrower but similar shape and 14.25 WB.
[close]

Nice that one looks fun

Tactics says front over truck is 8.25 and back is 8.5, wonder if that’s right?
[close]

Hmm could be. I had two and they seemed wider to me but I can't remember how they measured to be honest.
I do think 8.75" axles worked best on them, at least for me. 8.5"s worked well also. I had the one with wheel wells, and the wider axles lined up better with the wells. Fun shape, if you don't mind a short nose (longer nose than the Polar Surf shapes though)

They list the wheel well one as wider over the trucks for some reason.  Good info on the nose length!

Never had New Balance, are they TTS?
In my experience yes.
Sir, I'm going to politely, but firmly, ask you and your common sense to leave this establishment.

Did anyone else ever skate Titan "Ti-Lite" trucks back in the day?

I'm on the market for some new trucks soon and was reminiscing on all the brands I've tried when I remembered these.
I rode a set of them for a little bit way back in the late 90s', but I don't think I ever saw another person ride them in my entire life. I don't even remember where I got them. People would always ask me what they were, they were pretty cool looking, super shiny metallic blue.
All I can remember is they were seriously almost weightless, I don't recall the grind or turn characteristics but I don't think I had any complaints (I had zero gear madness back then). They had a pin that was supposed to lock the axel in place (the hole on the hanger) but it fell out after a few months. The first time it fell out a friend of mine saw it happen and was like "hey something fell off your board", we somehow found it and hammered it back in. Eventually both pins fell out and I didn't notice until I started experiencing axel slip.
I ground them down to the axel in just a few months and then for the first and only time in my life I snapped a hanger.
Not even anything big, I think it was like a kickflip or something down a 4 or 5 stair.

Does anyone else remember these or skated them? Just curious.
I don't know if Titan even had a team or anything, and like I said, I don't even recall where I got them and don't remember seeing ads or videos or anything for the company.

Yes I skated this exact pair as well, I always thought that lil hole in the truck was to put like drops of oil in so your pivot cup wouldn’t squeak, I don’t think that was the case lol,and I had no idea about the pin or whatever I must have lost that shit day one lol,  they were super light learned back 180s off stuff with them, and I think ended up breaking the kingpin trying to ollie off something bigger with my trucks cranked down

Yeah there was a hole in the axel too that lined up with the hole on the hanger, that's where the pin went...until it fell out.

It’s basically an updated tracker agro. Which was just an ugly Indy (5) that grinded super nice. Silicone impregnated they said.

I wish I had a pair of both still.

I had an older homie give me these second hand when I was around 10, same color and everything. I was a kid skating a big 5 board and having "real" trucks made me feel like less of a poser. I remember them being really low and light and looking pretty cool but I ended up giving them to a friend a couple of years later when he was starting out.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12m-HUMsKhGgXt8u-DAwh0JG4mKhJOa0F7m68nhDIxYU/edit?usp=sharing

working on a spreadsheet for all the different trucks data
started off with just 8.25" trucks since that is the most common size for skateboard deck (had to use 8" in case of venture lows cause they dont make 8.25" and also a ace classic or stage 4 indy is all in off sizings, so i just went up a size)

i have a suspicion some of the weights are off. getting conflicting data from tactics and other websites, so i tried to just use tactics for everything. I think for Ace trucks i had to use their website though which i have heard is bad. but tactics info for ace trucks seemed REALLY off...

if there is anytihng else you notice is wrong or you can add that would be amazing (mainly looking for the bushing heights right now i think some are available just havent got around to adding them)

Sorry I am a bit busy right this minute, but this is the link to the info I had posted a while back, most of it from there, but take a few others like Stage 4 as well.

https://www.slapmagazine.com/index.php?topic=112631.msg3874036#msg3874036

All this is for the greater good, so copy and re use as needed.

Even from some of my own measurements I think the bushings had squashed down some, or between a few sets, some were a bit more here than there.

Add to that:

Krux bushings
top 10.5
bottom 13.5

At least that was when I measured these ones I had in a set of Stage 4 for a session.

Gotta go.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

That looks helpful and awesome.  Skateboarding needs a GitHub to centralize info like that

Most of the stores in the Sale Gear Thread take paypal. 303 has a big sale on shoes and they take paypal

This is gnarly. Am I missing something or have you only included the weights for 8.25 trucks? Or am I stupid and cannot use the chart?

yeah I have only done 8.25" to start, and i sort of used it as a basis for everything if that makes any sense.
I am going to add as many as I can over time I am working on a little bit each day
i just wanted to start with 1 of each all in a list like that so you can get an idea which one is lighter. like i mean, a thunder titanium is still gonna be the lightest truck even if you had a 8.5 and the ace classic still gonna be the heaviest if you are comparing same axle size.

is the skatesamples/bbs 9.0 deck the same as the anti hero classic orange or are they slightly different?

the skatesample 9 is listed as 33 inch length with 15 inch wheelbase and it varies from site to site but i noticed a lot of sites have the anti hero classic orange listed as 33.25 length and 15.2 wheelbase

I can only speak to my experience with the 8.75 white eagle and 8.75 BBS shop boards are the same

i thought the SS.com was just like the 9" $lave i had and all the other 9" BBS popsicles i've seen.

BBS does have a new shorter 9"er.

Does anyone know for certain what baseplates can be set up with 7/8 hardware and what ones need 1”? I noticed Indy and thunder cast need at least 1” hardware

It might also depend on the deck too.  Some decks I have noticed are a little thicker than others.

In general though, I will usually use the low head nuts on most setups with 7/8" to start with but then if I have to change the board over, I will use regular nuts for any future setups, as the deck bolts are usually down in the board enough that I don't mind.

Some people will always leave the deck bolts sitting up over the deck a lot too, which then means that 7/8" bolts with normal nuts just do not fit.  The size of the bolt heads can also have a lot to do with this - especially those big Indy heads and similar but I like to use bolts with smaller heads and have them just under the grip in overall height, eg grip a board as usual, then use a Phillips screwdriver to score the top side of the board in the bolt holes to remove grip round the holes and then the bolts go in nicely and can be screwed down easily to sit just snugly at or slightly below the surface.

A couple of other guys I know are always wary of tightening bolts down too much, so they don't like how I do it but I see they leave the bolts sitting up out of the board a lot, which I don't like when I can feel them when I stand on the board.

The low head nuts are usually available from online hardware stores, a box of 200 or so is not that expensive and I prefer those to any others, but some people always prefer the regular nuts as their tool fits better on them and they have fewer issues, so they say.

In saying that, I have a lot of options in 7/8" and a good number of 1" bolts, so sometimes I will use the 1" more often if I need to add a thin rubber riser and don't mind the extra bolt sitting out from the baseplate, but on most setups I just have a sticker cut up and stuck under the deck between that and the truck so 7/8" will often fit well enough, tightened right down so the head of the bolt is just lower than the grip tape.  I don't ever really have issue with the board stressing or breaking through the bolts, with the smaller bolt heads either, but some people say that is a problem for them.

Might be too much info, but that is my go to for deck bolts anyway.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

I also should have said, I know a number of people who do use 1" for any and all cast baseplates and 7/8" only for forged baseplates, with whatever deck bolts, nuts or anything else.

That might be a generalisation but if you are worried about how far the bolt is down into the deck or always want a little of the bolt to sit through the nut, rather than it being only just on, this might be the best way to go about it.
