Can someone get me up to speed??
35 pages is a lot to go through
Thanks v much
Basically, she lacks skills, and is pro for some reason? And has all these sponsorships and deals while there is so many other woman or woman of color for that matter that are actually skilled at skating. There are people on here who are hyped for her because she's black. That's just the synapsis of the thread from all that I've read. If I'm missing anything, feel free to add?
At the end of the day, aren’t the questions here the same ones being asked about Gino in the Asics threads? Why is this underperforming person given all the opportunities and marketing dollars?
The answer for some in the Gino thread: legacy of style makes him forever relevant. Seemingly the answer to the Beatrice ?: it’s important to highlight and represent a black female skater.
The free market regulates itself.
you really learned that one sentence and think its accurate whenever you use it right?
this discussion is leading to something and might who knows regulate something.
so instead of just posting your catchphrase like a pokemon just try to add anything of worth
If people like it, it’ll stay.
If they don’t, it won’t last.
No one buys things they don’t like.
On a side note…
I’ve noticed that this place seems to love being hyper critical of black skaters and always tries to make them the butt of a joke.
For as progressive as people here like to signal themselves as being, none of this seems to be said in jest.
in this day and age everything has a hyper political agenda wether it is product marketing or sports
it really shouldn't be an issue because we all should be strictly against discrimination of any kind and left wing people discussing
but I bet there are people out there buying 5 Beatrice boards now because they see something that is not there
and is a consequence of lying in interviews for being "the first" even though she wasn't
she is a pro trust me she know at least something about skateboarding.
she has met like every legend and knows about some history at least.
making skaters and the community look far more racist and gatekeeping than they are and were
she looks cool and gives young women the idea of skating is fun thats good
but so does vitoria and we love her
sometimes people from certain ethnicities dont want to do something and have therefore no representation
do you think I cry about not having almost any middle eastern people in the pro ranks in america?
this place? really? I haven't noticed since the TK meltdown where I was strictly against it
but they did the same with bam so I thought whatever
better focus on GH right now if you're searching for a person that is hyper critical about black skaters
and if it wasn't for this place who would even notice that there are people not pleased about everything he does
this message board is a part of the free market regulating itself
just like his video have more impact on consumers than some might think
we are gown ups we can laugh about it
kids will literally stop liking you if you are getting bullied in front of a clapping audience
