Who actually wants to tighten their axle nut all the way down to the wheel? It looks bad and say goodbye to your threads after you land primo a few times

When Ishod said that he uses three washers and just tightens the nut enough so it stays on but doesn't show threads I started doing that. Then when Foy said that he does the same with the nut but doesn't use washers 'cause it helps him lock in better I started doing that. I like both ways but I still suck

I never use spacers and I only skate swiss and swiss ceramics

3 + 1 washers for life, rethreading is almost always a lost cause since the nut never fits snug anymore.

Is there a proper definition of tightness? I keep mine flush with the kingpin but have no idea if that’s considered medium or loose? I’ve had people tell me they ride loose trucks and then I hop on the board and I can barely turn without tic tacking. I never paid attention to any of this stuff when I was young

Not sure if you've noticed, but the earth's gravity has different wanted levels for different people. So truck tightness has more variables than the amount of kingpin threads showing.

I'm 6'4 175lbs and I find a flush kingpin nut is a pretty perfect medium for me.
I do the front truck flush and the back truck 1 or 2 threads showing (I like the back truck a hair tighter, helps my 360 flips suck less)

A lot of small pros skate with trucks completely cranked down (Nyjah, David Gonzalez, Westgate) I think because they are skating so ridiculously fast that their inertia means those trucks can still turn in the way that they want them to.

Ben is a real one. I wouldn’t be on this site if it wasn’t for him. I started this journey nearly two years ago and his videos were some of the first I ran across. Sure, he passed his madness on to me, but he taught me so much.

I get wanting to skate in private. Feeling the need to create content is exhausting. Like it’s nice to just skate and chill, even posting on here often can be a pain.
