The best thing to come from this thread will be the idea of crowd-funded bounties for tricks. It’s an app in the making- Google maps + spot book + a ‘go fund me’ service combined together
[close]

After tossing around the idea for a few years to fellow skaters and more often than not getting positive feedback, I started building a service like this, starting with some heavily skated spots in California.

Then I talked to a lawyer, who informed me if this service was hosted in the USA, I'd be responsible for any legal issues that surfaced due to providing a platform that allows people to accumulate money to be used as rewards for acts that could violate laws.

So if you are taking on the concept, figure out a way to:
- Do it that doesn't hold you legally responsible (decentralized or hosted "elsewhere")
- Ensure sensitive spots aren't added that would lead to them getting blown out
- Navigate the banking, or some type of money distribution system. I don't know tax law, and trying to bypass it with cryptocurrency could backfire.

Trick bounties aren't a new thing, but unless it already exists, I'm not aware of a searchable database of tricks / locations where the pot keeps growing.

Isn't this every skate company though?

Someone should DM a pro “like a man” and push it out there.

Maybe we can get a heckride  bang or bust type pot going.

Cromer , I could see. Dane Burman looks like he would try anything for $50.

has anyone heelflipped it?
[close]

you think you got that? i wouldn't even try the ollie

i would have tried the ollie around the time heath did the kickflip, but i dont even think i would have done it. it probably requires a speed that is much faster than anything i have ever fucked with. to me it looks like you would need to go the absolute top speed you can push from flat without requiring a tow-in. which is really scary to even have control once you pop the tail. so a flip trick especially one off the nose is super fucked on this.

if all heath did was a kickflip - this is one of the most legendary pros in the game - i am def not heelflipping it. thats why i am 100% sure this guy isnt gonna nollie tre flip it. the only person who is nollie tre flipping it would be out skating every single day and practicing his ass off. this guy clearly doesnt do that. said he hasnt even been skating that much lately.

@versacekid420 is a grown ass man who claims to have golf sponsorships. Pay to fly to LA and get your clip or shut the fuck up already.

This clown is reveling in the attention when he, us and everyone reading this knows damn well he ain't doing shit.

I had to come out of retirement for this BS. Bring it or sing it, goofy.

i think the biggest tragedy is more pro's cant STAY in Australia tbh. I think a reason they lose the flair when they come here is cause they are just skating the same spots as everywhere else. when you see an australian vid it always looks so fresh and amazing. its like Barcelona + LA mixed together. they just have to come over here to be closer to HQ and be able to go on the trips more easily etc. makes more sense for getting a long term pay cheque.

the height makes the distance that mcuh more, you probably need clear by 2-3 feet to clear the board etc. so my guess of needing to be about 10 feet out to clear it was pretty accurate.

I went and measured the spot, photos with measurements earlier in the thread, you're numbers aren't quite right. Would love to see your math skills put to the test. Let's calculate some hypotenuses, factor in gravity, what's the distance travelled through the air, speed necessary, etc etc
